I was cutting fire wood yesterday and this morning I went to look for my phone could not find its in my coat some where under 3 feet of snow.

I believe its on vibrate in a low signal area plus we where all over the place in this woods I know its on the ground next to a log but this woods was just logged out so there is more then one log to look under. Funny but it is just a phone.

You might be surprised.....snow is a good insulator, so as long as it stays buried you might be fine.

if/when you find it...let it thaw and warm to room temperature before you turn it on. i'd bet it's electronics are the same if not more sensitive than my LCD flatscreen is...best buy told me to let it warm to room temperature before i turned it on - i know a TV makes a lot more heat...but it's just what i would do.

The rice trick may be a good idea to go along with this.

Remove the battery cover, battery, and SD Card and submerge the Eris in a bowl of uncooked white rice for a day. The rice will absorb all the moisture and it should work fine. Do not use a hair dryer to dry it, as you will damage the circuitry. Good luck.

With two to three feet snow i have not even tried to find it and now we could get another two feet if it hits the coast in the right spot.

I remember once i went sledding and lost my very expensive car remote in the snow. 2 way remote start/alarm remote, it was white too, gone!

Go buy a metal detector, find the phone, then return the metal detector.

I wonder if it has enough metal in it to be detected under that much snow.

Borrow someone else's Eris and use the metal detector app!!

This is why you should have the "Where's My Droid" app. You set a code phrase and and how you want your phone to respond when the text is received. For example - If you text "Locate Droid" without the quotation marks to my phone, the ringer will be turned all the way up and it will ring for five straight minutes. I've had to use it to find my phone more than once. It's probably the most useful app I've ever seen.

The only drawback to this is that when your roommates or friends find out about this sweet app they will use it to wake you up in the middle of the night, especially if they've been drinking. You will hear them laughing downstairs.

Finding it when the snow melts will be no problem its in a blase orange coat but we probably covered two or three hundred acres so even with a metal detector would be like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Yea im tired of snow too we just set a record here in philly for most snow in philadelphias history and its still snowing but we got 2 feet the friday/saturday before the superbowl and last night into today its snowing another 2 feet and its STILL frickin snowing i hate shoveling ugh
