Help No Voice Mail Notification

I upgraded from a Samsung Caliber to the LG Optimus M and ever since then I have not been getting any voice mail notifications whatsoever. When I call my voice mail the messages are there but otherwise that's it. I have had a trouble ticket open with Metro tech support since last Monday Aug. 29 and was told to give it till today Sept. 1 and it would be working by then but it still isn't. Does anyone have any ideas?

Found this thread while searching google for an answer. My phone USED to show when I had a voicemail, now it NEVER does anymore.

I did do the LG software update. Was that the problem? Is there any known way to get voicemail notification back? I get all my other notifications (email, text, twitter, wifi, etc.) but just not voicemail! I forget to check it and I'll have 5 or 6 or 7 messages in there. And since there's no timestamp, I don't even know when they came in.

Any help is appreciated!

Visual voicemail app? Ok, I'll look for that as a work-around. I guess the actual voicemail notification is hosed then? :(

After I installed the visual voice mail app my regular voice mail notification started working also. This was a desperation fix I tried that works after giving up on getting any help from Metro tech support.

Ah, gotcha! Cool, because all I really want is the regular notification to work again.

I'm looking at the Marketplace and there are a bunch of different ones under the search "visual voicemail." Do you know which app specifically you used? I'd hate to try one that didn't have the same result as the one that worked for you.

Thanks!

You need to go to the Appstore that comes preloaded on your phone. It's the symbol with the big blue @ icon and scroll to the bottom under @metro Apps then download and install the MetroPCS Visual Voice Mail app.
Oh! The Metro app store. Gotcha. I admit, I've never gone in there before. :D Found it right away. Thank you for your help!

I called Metro for help because I was not able to receive an internet connection. The rep reset my data and that's when I noticed my vm indicator started came back.
