Help so far, any release day sales?

I think that there will be a bunch of sales on release day lol ~

But seriously.... i have no idea.. planning on just going to my AT&T store... i've never bought from BestBuy/Costco/Radio Shack for a mobile phone...

worth checking out...they are typically less...

I usually buy at best buy, match ad for anyone that has them on sale, and earn the best buy bucks

yeah cause you won't be getting a deal from BB. they're selling it for $199 on contract

Yes, but with Best Buy's Price Matching they will match sales within 30 days of purchase. So if the device goes on sale somewhere withing 30 days, just take your reciept back to Best Buy and they refund the difference. The only issue is if they match internet sales, that depends on the store and who you get. I think the official policy is they do not, but people are always saying they got them to do it so who knows.

I try to buy from Costco if I can because they don't charge tax on the estimated value of the phone, and instead only charge you tax on the out the door price.

For example when I bought a 'FREE' infuse at Best Buy, they charged me tax on the $650 estimated retail value of the phone = ~$60. When I bought my Thrill from Costco, it was $29 + $3 tax. When I went to Best Buy to compare, they wanted $99 + ~$50 tax = $149.

Collection of sales tax is a state law so ONE of them is breaking the law and could be in deep shit if reported. Knowing BB they are probably intentionally ripping off the customer. Here in NJ tax is always based on the price you actually pay. I know CA law taxes on the "list" price as well as some others.

Yeah somehow Costco bases the tax off of what they call the "Warehouse" price. When we got my Wife's Inspire there the price was $29.99 but the ax was based of the Warehouse price of $89.99. So more than the sale price but far less than the full list price of the phone. Best Buy follows CA state law to the letter and bases sales tax off the FULL list price of the phone.

I really hope Wal-Mart has the SG II in store for $148.88 because Best Buy price matches and I have a BUNCH of Reward Zone points to turn into Best Buy $$$ or whatever they call them. This phone could actually turn out to be pretty cheap.

I understand Walmart will be $129 (or was it $149?). Someone on XDA said it was already on display at their LOCAL Walmart but they had no stock yet.
just came back from the one closest to me. they didn't have any display dummies and she said it was usually a couple days after they get the dummy that they get actual phones a couple of days later.

on the plus side i can confirm the $150 price. actually i think it was like 148.88. sadly, she wouldn't let me take a picture of the spec card.

hopefully they put the price online tonight so i can grab one at BB and get their 30 day return with no restocking and wait to see if we'll get a timely Prime release.

I'm in no rush. Gonna wait a week or so and check out T-Mobiles version. I really want the 4.5" screen and 2.3.5. My Infuse should last another 2 weeks. :)
