Hello all, I have a pretty simple question.. What, in your opinions, are some of the better custom roms for the Tbolt? I was waiting for GB to see if I would like it, and honestly, it's not all that great IMO. So, I am considering rooting and running some customs roms, but frankly have NO idea where to start to figure out which are great, and not so great. thanks for the help!

Welcome to AF :D

As to the better roms for the bolt there are a ton!
If you want sense rom there are Team BAMF's roms, Synergy, Chingy's roms, ShiftSense, I am forgetting some I know because I don't run sense ;)

If you want AOSP then CM7 just had a new release, ShiftAOSP, BlackAOSP, OMGB, OMFGB, The Rom, and Liquid, I am probably forgetting some here too

If you decide to root (I encourage you to) then I would suggest trying out several roms both Sense and AOSP to see what you like best, also remember as the OS is updated (once ICS is released) there will be more and more choices.

If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Team BAMF is good, while I don't run Sense I can appreciate the work they do

so i have yet ANOTHER question.. while i am running this rom, and absolutely loving it, i realized that i may have made a critical error in that i didn't back up my factory rom.. ruh oh! am i totally screwed now if i ever want to return to full stock functionality?

and for the other question, i've been reading about the Cm7, and i see some people have problems with the GPS and BT.. can you suggest a version of it that doesn't have major issues? thanks!

I wouldn't let the fact that GPS doesn't work with some people to not make you flash the ROM. For the longest time I was running Sense, with BAMF 1.06 and Synergy nightlies and I was loving it..but then I figured I have to try out some AOSP ROMs since I've heard so many good things....Well, the switch was 100% worth it..I am running CM7 1.8 right now, and I must say it is amazing. Excellent battery life, performance, and customizability. It is definitely worth trying, and if you do the GPS lock trick (there are a few ways to do this, here's one http://androidforums.com/thunderbolt-all-things-root/407848-gps-fix-aosp.html. Since I already was running a sense ROM (as you are), you should not have to do that and GPS 'should' work for you, as it did for me..If you want to flash another ROM, I would highly recommend CM7 :)
