I love it here but I'm not sure i am in the right thread. It seems like it's mostly vz peeps here (nothing wrong with that:)) and i'm with t-mo but here goes. I am like most here...VERY interested in this phone (Insert real possible name here) and it looks like it is going vz initially and then MAYBE to the other 3. My situation is i have had a sammy vibrant since September of last year. Between wi fi connection issues, gps that is an unfunny joke, a lag problem that would make even the pope go postal, and an update butcher job that was 2.2 and no 2.3 in sight even with the great screen after paying full price and going through 5 refurbs i have had it. For me it's looking like the HTC Amaze or magenta's version of the NP. Please feel free to add any expert or even amateur opinions. Thanks and sorry for the slight veering off topic.

If Verizon does with this handset what they did not do with the GSII, or its a disgusting flop, or..................

What would you fall back on as your upgrade? Keep waiting? Change Carriers?

I don't think that will happen again this time. It's matter of bloatwares or not. But if that's the case unfortunately, it depends. It will be Revolution 2 or Droid razar for me depending on release timing and spec. Or if AT&T gets real Nexus Prime, I will switch carrier for it.

Firstly, on behalf of the staff of Android Forums, I want to warmly welcome you to our Nexus Prime madness thread. :p

Secondly, you are not alone. The Galaxy class sammy had a LOT of issues. They seemed to have been cleared up on the Galaxy 2. The NP is another generation forward, yet, and promises to be devoid of TouchWiz bloat, so it should be that much better. The worst you can do is wait to see what people say about it after it comes out?

Ask not what the Prime will do for you, but what you will do for a Prime! ~ cereal killer, 2011

That quote brought tears to my eyes. :D

Its allowed as long as the OP stays up to date.

Go Yankees.

GO YANKEEEEEEEEES!!!!

If the prime/nexus is a bust on VZW ....i'm on the Vigor like white on rice.

That's silly, white can't be ON rice, Rice IS white... silly billy. :p

Was my post deleted? Maybe I didn't actually post anything... anyways... I just wanted to know if this phone ended up being a Droid or a pure Google phone... or if that news wasn't official yet... thanks.

I looked up your posts and I didn't see any deleted post. Sorry for any confusion.

Coming soon to vzw tuna and panda mixed....get excited

It sounds like what the panda said in his poem is mixed with something else. Like panda and someone else were both right, but I have no clue on tuna.

So, here's tuna: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18004771

I don't see anyone that he's following with any kind of fish reference in their name either. The "tuna" thing has me stumped:thinking:

EDIT:

Nice catch! Still don't know if he's trying to tell us something or being facetious...

I hate to say it but my Charge is a great phone rooted with a custom ROM. What I really want is the 1080p recording, more RAM, NFC (I'm a Citi CC holder), and most importantly the unimpeded pure Android experience sans the crap that tends to slow these phones down. The spec geek in me is a little rubbed the wrong way with regards to the possibility that the GPU may not be cutting edge, and it annoys me that it won't be the LITI real stripe AMOLED in the HD screen. It just makes me feel less future proof, and if this is a disgusting flop, I'd probably see what next Spring brings. That being said, I'm not sure how the next Nexus phone will be a flop. Is that possible? You guys are so bent out of shape about the software, but it's the one thing you can change thanks to the excellent dev community. It's everything packaged under the screen that you're stuck with.

It's going to be a painful 10 day wait for that announcement. I was excited for this phone in late July so we're beyond getting excited. It's now October and I'm ready already.

You vastly underestimate the importance of retaining or even gaining a slight market share by preempting an iPhone launch. This isn't about abandoned stores on launch day for the iPhone. Of course there will always be lines, but those folks also probably were in line a year ago for the iPhone 4. You're thinking in vague generalities. If the iPhone launch sales slide by a few %, that's a win, and you're NOT going to see that level of detail in the mass hysteria because those are the crazies that probably have 2 of everything with an apple on it in their homes.

I understand that they have to try to stem the tide. The analogy which keeps coming to mind is any TV programming scheduled opposite the Superbowl. Sure the networks have to do their best, but except for a few people (myself in this analogy as well), the vast majority will watch the Big Game.

The NP announcement will the the smartphone Puppy Bowl. :)
