Help Facebook and SMS?

Ok so my friend sent me a text message today and I replied to a simple "hey" but during the time I was at school so after that I simple replied again and said "hey Im at school I'll ttyl". But when I got home I checked my facebook and I noticed that those same exact texts I sent to my friend appeared as my facebook status. This is extremely upsetting because I could be talking about something personal through text messages and it could appear as a status update on my facebook. Has this happened to anyone? I asked a friend who had the Ascend and told me that the exact same thing happened to him. My guess is that it had to do something with the app so I uninstalled it.

Sounds like you replied to a FB notification. They send you a text when someone posts on your wall, and you can reply. But yes, it will post what you say on your wall. I've had the same thing happen before. Sometimes it's clear that it's a FB notification, other times not so much... I've just learned to watch what number the text came from before I reply.

No trust me it wasnt that. I'm 100% positive thats not the case. I received the text from my friends cellphone number NOT a facebook notification number.

Interesting... I don't know what to say then. I can't see any reason why it would post to your FB if that is the case.

Me neither, and thats what freaks me out....when ever I get a notification It showed up in my notification bar but i rarely ever got texts from facebook saying I was tagged in a picture or someone commented on a picture I was tagged on. But this is extremely weird...which is why I uninstalled the app. Thats what I think it is but either way its scary.

Un-syncing FaceBook with your phone should prevent this, its possible to reply to messages to Facebook like this, I believe by holding down on the thread that's created when you receive a message...

Syncing has nothing to do with it. Its only for contacts. Ots the facebook app. There is a bug somewhere.

There's a lot of bugs in the App, which is why I suggested the Sync, since people have a privacy problem, doesn't really seem as its safe to use.

That's what I thought too, then my SMS started acting up.

Have you tried clearing the Data? Recently had to nuke that and the cache after Notifications stopped working. While it forced me to login again as if I just installed FB, it fixed all the problems I had.

You mean going on to settings > applications > manage applications and clearing the data there?

Yeah, that thing. Been away from Android for too long, phone being stupid really puts me down.

Lol well I just uninstalled the app. I'm concerned about privacy.
