So after scouring forums for a fix to the wifi connecting error everyone (including me) is experiencing on their samsung epic 4g, it was an article i read about cell phone radiation that led me to this fix...

i usually only ran into the wifi issue at my house (where most cell phone reception is spotty). it wouldn't respond when id try the toggle switch, then when i went to the settings it would take forever trying to connect then say error, or if i was "connected" it would give me some network data connectivity error when i tried using internet or Facebook..

after reading some other posts in forums i found that it would generally work again if you reboot your phone...fine i guess but not ideal.

then i was reading about cell phone radiation risks and solutions, and one of the solutions was turning your phone on airplane mode when asleep. so if you absolutely must have your precious phone mere feet from your head when your sleeping, at least you won't be melting your brain away for 8 hours a day, and your alarm will still go off! plus you can leave your phone on and unplugged all night and it will only have used 2% of battery!

well after i turned on airplane mode on one night i wanted to look something up quickly so i tried to see if wifi would still work while in airplane mode. sure enough when i hit the toggle switch for wifi, it lit up immediately! alas! a temp solution until samsung provides us with the next update which hopefully has a (proper) fix.

so if your getting the wifi connection error message, try putting your phone on airplane mode first, then turning on wifi. let me know if this is working for you guys!!

Im not satisfied with that kind of solution U_U Samsung could give us a premanent solution to this issue... turning off and on the phoen, or switching to flight mode is not an appropiate solution U_U

Same problem, I bought my Samsung galaxy ace 3 days ago and it happends to me twice! Im very frustrated. A new phone that has problems from the very begining? Samsung must be kidding.... If I wont bought anymore a samsung phone, and Im gonna tell my friends about this miserable moment... Its very disgusting.

Hope to find a bugfix wickly

Samsung has issues with Quality Control for sure. When I upgraded to the Epic 4G on Aug 12, 2011 for over 30 days I have had nothing but problems with this phone. Wifi was never an issue so I consider myself fortunate in that area but I have had many other problems with this phone. Little by little I have played around with the phone and found ways to make it more stable but it's still not where I'd like it to be. Sprint's tech support was worthless because their answers was always reboot or hard reset the phone and I got tired of it and did the legwork and research on my own. So now my phone is 70% stable from how it used to be 30% stable.

Glad to see a better solution to Wifi rather than reboot if I ever run into that problem. The biggest irritation I have is that anytime I do a reboot I have to constantly reboot again until my SD card shows all my files on the phone. There isn't anything wrong with the SD card. It shows up when I check under settings and if I use a file manager I can see all the files, it just won't put the apps on the phone so that I can use it. Even tech support admitted there is an issue with the Epic 4G and reading SD cards.
