Florida
I posted this in another thread but i figured i'll created one for those in Florida around Tampa. Looks like Tampa, FL is capped at 180kpbs down, and about 155kpbs. Which is WAY better then regular 1x.

Here are the screens i took a few minutes ago...

So i'm happy as a modaf*cker

NOTES:

Make sure you edit your build.prop..... That seem to do the trick. Also make sure you flash 3023.prl. That also seem to get it on and popping. Also do a few reboots and/or put it on airplane mode and then turn it back off and on. (you prob can just get a app to turn off your mobile connection, but i was a lil lazy)

In the build.prop you change

ro.ril.hsxpa=1
ro.ril.gprsclass=10

to

ro.ril.hsxpa=2
ro.ril.gprsclass=12

What that does is makes the speed in download and upload faster. Forgot the source link, not sure where i saw it. Need it? Pm me, illl find it.

Anyone around tampa can also confirm?

I live in Palm Harbor, 34683 and I've been gettin spotty 3G. I got a signal when I was on Gulf to Bay Blvd. It didn't work though, just timed out and sorry to bust your bubble, but thats no where near 3G "speeds" I used to almost hit 1 mb down with Sprints EVO and 10+ down on 4G, so this phone is painfully slow to me.

I don't understand why my uploads are so fast in 1x. I haven't seen anything that looks like 3G here. I'm close to Plant City.

I too am near Plant City, hwy 60 between Plant and Mulberry. Very disappointed with 3G both at home and at work. When I try to download something or update an existing app the phone will connect initially with 3G then wait around a few minutes then switch to 1x and download it. the waiting around is not worth the speed increase eg download update time on 3G should be 2 minutes, it hangs around waiting for a connection for about 1 minute then decides to download about half then hangs for around 30 secs. Then it decides 1x would be better. Flips to 1x and waits for a connection for about 30 seconds then starts to download taking another 2 minutes to download total time can be over 5 minutes. Total time to download on 1x would have been about 3 minutes so I invariably switch off 3G and keep to 1x. Yes everything IS up to date on my phone PRL etc. All this boils down to a crap signal in this and the surrounding areas. As I said in other threads on this subject MetroPCS 3G sux BIG time. They need to not just uncap the service but improve the signal.
