App to randomly change home screens/wallpaper?

Is there an app that will randomly change your home screen and wallpaper to a different one at some pre-determined interval, say every time the phone restarts? There are so many cool looking home screens and wallpapers that I can't make up my mind. It would be nice to select a bunch and then have them randomly selected every restart or specified interval, kind of like shuffle on a CD player.

Tasker can do this...

you can set up steps to do a time interval and then change the wallpaper.

Can you set Tasker to pick a random wallpaper in a certain folder in a time period?

For example, I have 4 folders named Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night. Each with the appropriate images in them.

Can I have Tasker set a RANDOM image as the wallpaper from the folder named Dawn between 6am and 8 am?

If so...how? :)

Yes it can...give me a bit and I can figure it out. Have you been to the tasker site?

I got it working on my phone this way:

New>Context>Calendar: I selected Aug - Dec (Tasker doesn't seem to let you go back on the months) Then changed the days of the month to days of the week. Select Sun - Sat. Done.

Tasks to add:
Variable>Variable random> %PIC> min 1 max 4

Display>Set Wallpaper. Now this is where you would normally long click to set but instead give the path of where the pics are stored. /dcim/Camera/pic%PIC.jpg

Tasker>Wait > Set your time interval

Tasker >Goto Action> Number 1

Now here is the key to this working...you have to name the pics you want as pic1.jpg, pic2.jpg, pic3.jpg, pic4.jpg. You can edit them on your phone with Astro.

Hope this is what you are looking for. There maybe some other ways but this is how I did it.

As I'm looking this over, it seems it will pick a random image from one folder and change it, but can it pick a random image from one folder at one time of day, but a different folder at some other time of day?

You could change the context to a time interval and create two different tasker profiles (12:01am - 6pm, 6:01pm - 12am) then point them to the different folders. I can't sleep and my phone isn't near me but that might be easier then trying to get to complicated. I guess you could create seperate If statements for odd/even numbers to point to different folders. That may be to much of a pain for you to keep the name of the pics sorted. IMO, easier to create two profiles...:)

Made a Tasker app to do this, it takes every picture that is supported in a folder and makes a array of it, and chooses a random picture of the array and sets the wallpaper on screen unlock, but you can just change the profile activation method to your linking, time of day month you name it, it's up to you.
Here's is the link, hope you like it.
