Root Current state of Roms for the Triumph?

I"m hoping someone can help me understand the current state of rooting and roms for the Triumph. I currently own the Optimus V, running the latest build of the Backside CM7 rom. I held off purchasing the Triumph because I've read that it has hardware and software issues, and because I'm not sure if Gingerbread has successfully been ported yet. The recent announcement of the Optimus Slider and the HTC Wildfire leave me pretty underwhelmed because I was hoping for new phones with bigger screens and beefier internals than the Optimus V.

So are there any full fledged working roms for the Triumph? It seems like there are only pseudo/alpha level roms. Could someone maybe make a list and provide links to all the roms so far, so I can research futher?

Actually that "Alpha" build you speak of is in fact much more stable than an alpha build would normally be. It's actually quite stable and is very close to just skipping beta altogether lol okay maybe not quite but trust us it is very far along and much better than what you might think an alpha build to be. If I was building it, I'd say beta and damn near done with beta at that. there is very little left that isn't functioning and while it does have some bugs they really aren't all that bad.

I love how anyone who wants to root and flash a ROM on thier new phone, all they care about is gingerbread and cm7 or miui. Why not show the stock based ROMs some love lol! They are good in there own right. I won't flash a aosp ROM! I don't care how cool everyone says they are!!

I mean froyo is a good android os in itself, it needs to be shown some love, and with some tweaking I was getting almost as high quad scores on a stock based ROM than on a aosp cm7 based ROM!!!

What do you have against an aosp rom?

Well nothing really. Just alot of times they stay buggy. And I find pride in taking what motorola butchered and make it into a awesome ROM. Like on the intercept I love knowing that we took something that was god awful for software and made it to where it was way better than before!

haha yea i remember the intercept! *cough* PIECE OF $H1T! *cough cough* :D
it was funn messing with that phone! i bricked 4 of mine (i was a newb... you can trust me now though :p)

I'm proud to have never bricked a phone to a point where I couldn't restore it (within 24 hours). Even after I destroyed my Triumph's framework, the next morning I booked it to the library and discovered a previously nonexistant recovery and stock nandroid backup. So I have skills.

Regardless, Cyanogenmod is considered the "holy grail" of development, and MIUI is... I don't know exactly, but people really like it too, so it must be good. I still prefer stock ROMs though, for the obvious reason of stability. And so I can tout mine.

Yeah it's pretty hard to do. I mean possibly by flashing the .nb0 file of the cherry mobile magnum, or of course some other motorola device through rsd lite might result in bricking. Of course you could boot up linux, turn on downloader mode and format every partition on the phone and it would be a brick! But given if someone had a backup of every partition through linux, or get someone to do it that ahs a working phone and that could probably be saved. It would be very hard to perma-brick this device. It's a perfect developers phone for real!

Cool! lol... im gonna be getting a new computer in like 3-4 months so i will load ubuntu on my old one and start messing with kernels and what not. hopefully by then we have some more good repos up so it will be easier to do so. also, i will probably screw around with cm7 or make a plain gingerbread rom (i gotta learn linux first LOL :D)
