But OG not being a nexus device, it still had to receive updates from Verizon, right? Not straight from Google?

yep, 'tis true. wow, too bad. say what you want, but a true innovator and probably the inspiration for Google to develop Andy.

I googled it the second I read that, but turns out it may have been a huge **** up by a CBS tweeter... nothing confirmed yet.

I was just thinking...outside the box as they say.

Verizon has the largest LTE network in the nation right seems that Samsung and Google would want to show the speed of their device with the fastest network to begin with right...but I noticed that AT&T announced that they are beginning their own LTE network and will have 15 cities activated by the end of 2011, and Sprint has also announced their own LTE network beginning early 2012.

Wouldn't one Nexus device set up correctly work on all three carriers networks once they activate their own LTE system?

Maybe the SCH-i515 was developed for all three carriers on their LTE networks and is coming to them later so they can get their systems up and running first?

Good thinking, but i seem to remember an article about this a while back. Although it may be technically possible, when you run out of 4G service, the phone reverts back to 3G. Since VZW and ATT have different 3G systems, the phone would probably be rendered useless...

<----------- Observed his moment of silence... :(

Now: CONGRATS to Steve58 for grabbing the 3K post! I left to the store and missed 2 pages worth!

I'm planning on camping out here for the 4,000th post... bank on it.

If this thread reaches 4k posts before the 11th, this will need to be reported to Guinness(sp?)! And I'm pretty sure that cheating a-hole Steven58 has the 4k post already reserved for him!

:D

JK Steven, you've been here long enough to earn the power to do so. If I were in your shoes, I'd do it to just because I could and I'd do it for EVERY thread on the forum! lol

I gotta say this again, I am seeing the future. Apple doesn't have the resources to stay ahead of the curve anymore. They can't keep up with google, samsung, htc, motorola, lg, kyocera, sony... you name it.

It's one company against many. Not gonna happen.
