SMS suddenly going crazy

Hello everyone.. I've had my eris for awhile now, no problems thus far.. Today, 3 times now I've gotten a text (first using handcent, now chomp) and when I pull down to clear/read it in the notifcations tab, sometimes its disappeared and then when I go into the messaging app, its GONE! WTH? Is there a setting I messed with that is making it do this, or how do I fix it?

I've had to ask people to re-send their text message, that gets pretty old for both of us..

I rebooted and have yet to see if that has done anything, I havent gotten a message since I did..

Did the reboot fix it? Have you tried with just the stock message app? Is it possible that you have tons of messages and some of the new ones are just getting lost in the mix? Are you running any kind of special message delete app?

It appears that I have more questions about this than you do.

Yeah, but those are all great questions about that issue, especially the one about the stock messaging application. If it happened with that, I'd be a lot more worried than having it happen with a 3rd party app.

No, I haven't tried using the stock messaging since I've had my phone.. I just dont like the layout... The reboot seems to have fixed it, for now.. But I'd still like to figure out the cause in case this happens again. I've got delete old messages app, but I have to run it manually, I usually run it every Sunday. It was just a wierd thing, pull the notification tab down then the message was... gone.

Hopefully it doesn't happen again..

Do you have chomp and handcent both installed? They may be causing a conflict. You really need to figure out what apps you have installed around the time the screwups with the messaging started. Pay attention when you install an app to what information or data it needs to operate. Some will overwrite data another apps uses too.

I deleted handcent and then installed chomp..
