How is this thing on battery? It says 3.5 talk time and 200 idle. Some lady at the metro store told me she played with it for 9 hours (pandora, wi-fi, apps) before it turned off. I didn't believe her cause she was probably just trying to sell me the phone. I basically want you guys to tell me how much it lasts you or someone you know (describe how long it lasts and what you do on it).

i havnt received my phone yet but metro has an extended battery that is 2 times the size on the website you can take a look. so you will get 7 talk and 400 idle.

as of now i have 8h 20m 55s on battery and still 56% left...i have 4g off though for most of the time except when i see a download button on one of the text messages or when i want to send a picture i turn it on then back off when i'm done. So far the accumulated time playing angry birds has been around 30mins and internet surfing at school using wifi about 20mins. for me the battery life is good can't complain about, and probably won't but an extended one for it since i don't really need to.

I just used it for 1hr 40min straight. Myth defense, netflix, downloading apps, email, browsing. all @75% brightness. battery went from 100% to 78%.

Charged it for 30 minutes. Went from 78 to 85%. sent like 5 texts while charging.

So seem like it uses battery like it charges it. 7% for every 30 minutes.

A big factor, 4G being used or not, that a lot of people fail to take into account, is signal strength.

The closer you are to a tower (or the stronger your signal), the less wattage your phone puts out in signal.

The further you are from a tower (or deeper inside a building that reduces your signal), the more wattage is output to account for the additional "distance" to the tower.

The funny thing is, my job is just 2 blocks from a tower, and my home is about 3 miles from the closest one. You would think that while at work I would get better signal (which would equate to better battery life) - I don't. Because of the construction of our office building, I get very low (but still very usable) inside. Because of this, I use battery faster in the office than I do at home.

Make sense?

When in the building at my campus I have no signal at all so I put my optimus on airplane mode to save battery. Its crazy how much battery bad signal uses.

Turn Off 4g How Do U do that? & The Phones Gonna Run Mad Slow With The 4g Off I Cant Turn It Off No Service

you still get service, and if you have prl 3019+ you'll have pretty damn good service. besides, whenever you call even if you have 4g on you're not using 4g you're using regular 1x, 4g is only for data so if you have 4g off like i do just turn it on whenever you get a mms or want to go on a website.

What Is prl 3019+ & How do u Know If I Have it? & If I Wanna Go On Facebook( Which I Do All The Time) U Mean to tell me I got to Turn On 4g all the time?

well the first time i tested the battery with 4g on the whole day i got up to 8 hours of life...that was playing angry birds and going on facebook a lot, i think that's pretty good. but yes if you use facebook a lot might as well leave 4g on but i highly recommend not being obsessed with it and turn off 4g for most of the day so you can get 16hrs xD

you can find out which prl you have by going to settings, about phone, status, and it'll be the 5th one down. "PRL version"
