Can't wait im looking forward to it. Hmm can you tell us a little about what you have going on with the rom? Like is it 2.2.2, is it themed, etc. :D

Right now it looks pretty much stock. I'm working on getting a themer to help out, but it's rough when this phone is as neglected as it is. I'm site someone will help. I'm reading about how to theme, but I want to release something sooner than later. It will be 2.2.1. All issues addressed in the 2.2.2 update will be present in this rom. That's all I have for now. Stay tuned...

picord,
hey man i have seen quite a bit of post from you and i see that your wife has the lg vortex on 2.2.2. is it rooted? heres what i wanted to know if you knew the answer to. i rooted my phone with gingerbreak and i have my superuser permissions and shows i have root access. how come when i go to boot into recovery mode it erases everything and akes my phone go back to default just like when i first bought it? could it be my phone didnt completly root or that its because i only have my stock rom on there? i cant figure it out. i have clockworkmod and almost every kind of root toolbox but i cannot figue this out. is there even a reason i should boot into recover if i dont have a custom rom on my phone? my email is coryl812@gmail.com. please answer if you get the free time.

My wife is now using my Incredible since I upgraded to the Inc 2, but to try and answer your question. I rooted the same way with gingerbreak and have the same issues your having. As far as it going back to default, it's because we dont have custom recovery on our setup (someone correct me if I'm wrong here) there is one available to use Here I just havent tried it out yet. I hope someone comes up with a ROm for this phone. I keep it just for a backup in case anything happens to my or her phone

i can help out if the rom is for 2.2.2 which my wifes vortex is, I know linux very well and minimal visual basic. Plus knowledgeable about optimus phones, i have optimus v running iho cm7

I have been away for a bit and came back to see some new posts :)

I would love your assistance. I will send you a pm soon. BTW...whether the ROM is 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 will not determine who can run it. I am using drell's 2.2.1 base because it is rock solid and the "fixes" found in 2.2.2 can be easily incorporated.

For those who posted having trouble with getting custom recovery: go to the home of AF and look for ROM Developers. There you will find getitnowmarketing (drellisde: as he is known on xda). Look for the custom recovery thread and follow instructions to a T. If you don't have or know what ADB is, download terminal emulator from the market and issue commands from the application. You really have to type slooooowly to get it all right the first time.

As far as cyanogenmod working for this device: I don't know that it has been successfully ported (radio, camera, etc). I wouldn't hold my breathe.

I know the ROM I want to release isn't out yet, and it won't be cyanogenmod, but it will make you a little happier to own this device. Thank you for your patience.

Can't guarantee that this will work for you but this is what worked for me. I followed the guide at the same link you posted above with the terminal emulator on my lg vortex. Had the issue of it just resetting my phone to stock everything. I then ran across widgetsoid on android market and set up the reboot option to recovery (after adding the 1*1 widget), and viola it went to recovery just as said on the recovery thread. :D So far after a few reboots and failed flashes its working with the Vol-down + Home + Power and release at LG logo button combo. (I hold till after the LG logo but thats how mine works. everything I do just has to be a little different lol ) I hope it helps.
