I was just watching 60mins and there was a "news break" that said "Samsung has delayed launching their new Nexus prime phone on tuesday out of respect for the passing of Steve Jobs"

WTF I googled this and found no OFFICIAL report for thats the reason. Apparently CBS has other sources?

Yeah, I saw that too. I did a double-take and then took a picture with my EVO after rewinding. Picture looks familiar...

Its like this with all phones before announcement. The only reason this one is getting more attention is because of the name Google/Samsung.

That's what I'm saying. As a tech site, they should at least acknowledge that no other android handset had remained under such tight wraps. I guess I do see a bit more apple love over in camp cnet, though.

About the soft buttons: I wouldn't be surprised if they were configurable by the user. Right now you can have certain apps take over the notification area, and in ICS there may also be some facility for particular apps to hide the buttons. Maybe launchers will be able to configure button visibility for all apps. Since they're soft, maybe you could have utilities to add extra buttons in the same area, or offer a double sized button bar. Will be interesting to find out what you can do with them!

Terrible looking. I don't like the "lines" of the device. It has zero character. The render on the other hand has a real appeal to it. Its like night and day.

Please let me know if that picture should be deleted from the OP. It didn't look quite right to me, either.
After looking at the pic again it does look fishy looking.
It Maybe a SGSII.
