Hello everyone. I have an HTC Droid Incredible and I downloaded the Skype application. Whether I sign out of it, uninstall it, delete my chat history on the Skype program in my PC, etc, my "events" or history on my actual Skype Mobile stays there. It won't show the entire conversation but still shows the last part of the conversation from each contacts I've IM'ed. This is very alarming because those conversations are just piling up under "events". Is not that they show unread. I can choose to "Close" them and they go away temporarily but they show right back up if I sign out and then sign back in. I have deleted all of my browser cookies, uninstalled the app, you name it. But the IM history stays there. Like I said, if I go to my PC and pull up Skype, there is no history there because I cleared it all out. Anyone out there that might have any ideas on how to clear this history would be my guardian angel indeed. Thanks in advance.

Same here. So annoyed by it that I am deleting my Skype account and making a new one entirely so I can be sure no history exists. I have sensitive business info on it that I typed on my work computer, and deleted all history and record of, but mobile skype keeps digging it up from somewhere. I didnt even type that on this phone and it grabs it. This tells me Skype is keeping record of all messages and never actually deleting them. Probably through an error in this app, it is grabbing things it shouldn't.

I will no longer use Skype for work, and am quite upset. I consider this a breech of privacy. I hope someone makes a stink over this and lets people know what is going on!

I felt compelled to add to this string simply because I'm wondering how many people actually try and have success with the suggestions for doing things that are posted on this or any other site. Clearing the cache does nothing (well, it did absolutely nothing for me), and deleting data erases contact and profile information on the phone (again, it did it in my case). When either or is done, the message history STILL comes back which leads me to believe that it's being stored on a Skype server somewhere. That message history was not generated by using a home PC or laptop, but by using the mobile Skype app, and so far, I have yet to find a way to delete the message history without it returning. I'm hoping someone out there has actually found a solution that works.

first of all i have several computers in my house with skipe on it. well they all have to be set for no history if u forget one with the history on it and the phone is on and both are on skipe ur ending up with the history back on the phone. this is what i think!
i have no problem and it works but its a pain because u have to enter ur password every time u clear the data on the phone. to clear the data just follow on of the entries here in the forum...he, he good there is a spell checker here :p

Skype Mobile pulls the history from Skype's servers. So even clearing data, removing and re-installing Skype will not delete it. Because I see history in Skype Mobile from messages I done on my computers as well, and there's no way that I can see to clear it either. Yup, blame Microsoft. In the absence of any fix, be careful what you say, that's very much it I think.
Despite the original premise, Skype is NOT private, government spooks can have full access to everything.

Two problems here: Too many people answer this question without a clue as to what they are talking about leading to completely inaccurate "solutions."

Secondly, too few understand that this software belongs to Microsoft and the many government agencies able to access and monitor it. Get Bleep if you want to own your communications or similar.

Hey mate no such thing as too many possible solutions
Except when none of them are correct which was my point. You cannot control what Skype does with your chats. It is not provided for and none of these "solutions" address that fact. Even if you delete your account, the chat is still there, the only difference being you can no longer access it but Skype can.
