Root Root Unroot DROID 3 Tool.

I am just curious if anyone has tried this tool yet with success. It is from psouza4. If you go to Unroot? - xda-developers, you will find the software. The one at the top of the page had issues, so if you go all the way down to the bottom of the page and download it: http://www.psouza4.com/Droid3/PetesM...ools_v1.03.zip, the issues have been corrected. I was just wandering if anyone has tried this yet, because I want to be able to unroot my phone if I have to. This tool is supposed to be able to root, unroot, run temp ADB root procedure, and restore my system/app. I believe one person said he had success somewhere on Androidforums.com, but I was wandering if anyone else did without having any issues before I use it.

Thanks!

You should read ALL the posts from your link. I would not suggest restoring your apps through this toolkit. At least NOT from the link provided. Un-rooting might work without the restore. You do have the option to not restore the system\app. I would suggest that.

Don't get me wrong. Pete is awesome. But...if your phone is rooted, let it be. Don't delete apps, freeze them. Or wait until there is an sbf.

IIRC, those apk's are around here somewhere. (I uploaded a lot) Also, I think there are full bloatware dumps at XDA. There is a modded Skype for FF cameras since the stock version didn't support them. I installed the modded then never looked back.

I had a successful unroot today before I went into VZW about my clickless space bar (no replacement unless it stops working entirely...suggestions? Hex edit framework to give it no function?). It was very simple.

This might sound dumb but how exactly do you unroot using the easy root/unroot tool?

Open the program and hit "Unroot my phone." It's right next to "Root my phone."

+1 to having it work.

Did the Temp ADB root (first time it didn't work, the program suggested a reboot/battery pull, it worked after that), then unrooted. I did NOT do the system restore (but also didn't make any mods to the system files while I was rooted). Seems to have worked perfectly.

Any way to check whether you're unrooted or not? I'm sending the device back to VZW next week and would like it to be in its original condition.

Thanks!

Well Root Checker will let you know if you are rooted or not. Thats on the market. But you will be unrooted because a temporary ADB root would deactivate upon rerboot anyway. So the unroot tool did nothing

Sorry - my post was unclear. I rooted yesterday using the "root" button on this tool and NOT the Temp ADB root. I loaded some ROMs, played around, but then realized I needed to get a replacement device from VZW.

Today I tried the "unroot" button on this app, but it didn't work. I read around a little, and one suggestion was to click the Temp ADB root button BEFORE clicking the "unroot" button. That did the trick. Root Checker confirms I am NOT rooted.

Good stuff!
