Root does anyone remember ACS updater?

i noticed that ACS updater still has shabbymod 1.0 and 1.1 listed , and i was surprised to see a theme in there, nice job bloodawn (simplegreen 2.1)

so i was just wondering if we plan on using this app or updating stuff? are we getting any closer to being able to do backups n' such through it

or has this just become abandonware?

just curious

since we can't use rom manager, i think this would be a great app to support, just my 2 cents

I use it for installing stuff from my sdcard. Its quicker then manually booting into cwm and having to go through everything

backup and restore already works. uses cwm to create backups. the one plus of doing it through acs updater is that u can name the backup. helps if u have multiple saves

Ohh and whats the deal with Shabby 1.0 and 1.1? are they up-to-date? I questioned it when I saw the BD simple green 2.1! lol

yeah i reminded shabby about that a Loooooong time ago but i guess he keeps forgetting to yank it until he gets a release version ready

neither one of them are good

and yes simple 2.1 is starting to show some age as well

Lol Must go back and read the thread..Honestly skipped over it, without thinking.. I hope this does encourage some of the Devs and themers! It would be sweeet!

I took acs off my phone! Got tired of see it grow cob webs!

2 roms that don't work plus one outdated theme isn't much reason to tell people about this app

if it were properly updated it would be somewhat useful, but all we can do for now is wait and see

True, but look at it like this. It's safer to use than ROM Manager. While ROM Manager may have all of the ROMS on there, absolutely none of them are for the Prevail due to it not being supported by the app, and that's leading some to have permanant issues by attempting to flash things that aren't supported. Sure the ACS Updater has some outdated and now unsupported things on it, but everything that is listed is/was for the Prevail only. Its still a great app for saftey reasons but DEFINATELY needs to be updated....

submit the url (needs to be a direct one.. no mediafire/megaupload etc crap here.. direct link services can be ftp servers/dropbox etc etc.. not saying it will be fast to get posted in here but as time goes on the more you submit teh faster you tend to be "approved" due to being a known dev ya know?

its just teh same as rom manager.. anyone can submit roms/themes for it just no one has

ok, well some good news ive got access to the updater lists now (sorry guys the main guy, the one who made it all is very busy working a lot of hours.) so today ill be adding in t he following:

simple blue/green 4.1
ciq remover 3.1

any others?

if they want it on there then they need to submit it sorry should have been a bit more clear with that.

anyways the new stuff is up, SM1.0 has been pulled for the time being so no one gets confused. make sure to download latest list to ensure you are able to get the stuff.

try installing the 2.1 thats on there first then upgrading to a 4.1

Got the same result with 2.1 it downloads, reboots into android system recovery with several options
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

I select apply sdcard:update.zip
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted

You should be selecting INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD. unless i missed something
