***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

You always have to assume the worst. Take a look through this thread. Everyone was all excited and now oh only 32gb...its a let down. If you're less positive and more negative when the let-down comes...there's nothing to be let down by. :)

Haha, while in theory you're correct, I'd say that 32GB internal storage is hardly a worst case scenario :p
But still, give us a chance. You know you want to ;)

And awful at poems. Probably why they haven't gotten more followers. Who wants to listen to the English language get as mangled as when those two do it?

We have a source that speaks plainly and doesn't require followers.

Well I guess we are all technically Steven's followers since he started the thread.

Hey, just because we don't know if the softkeys will disappear or not doesn't mean you have to assume the worst. I say you wait until Tuesday, and if the .2" is really a big deal for you, go ahead and wait for another phone.

It is more than .2 (about double). Basically, they would be touting a 4.65" but it is a tad less than a 4.3". To make matters worse, game emulators are a disaster, since way too easy to touch the nav buttons on a phone display (unless you have Mini me fingers).

If they can be hidden during app use- no harm no foul. If not, it is beyond stupid lame for ICS to have a fixed nav bar (just like HC). This would also mean 4.3" display are really about 4". The hits of stupid keep coming if a fixed nav bar.

Added: HC and ICS should have had a requirement of one button- a home button like Apple. Android without any buttons seems too far.

ha. I have a bad habit of not really encompassing everything I want to say via text.

What i mean is people are down about the 32gigs. Some are down about the design of the phone. Some are unhappy it might not be metal. Others want the better processors or better memory or sd slot or it to print money or it to...list goes on and on.

I'll probably wind up getting this phone because honestly it is nice and the two main things (until quadcore) I want are NICE BIG SCREEN and dual core at the current moment.

edit*
and apparently it might not matter with big red...so ...CRUSHED.

Call Quality. Let's hope this phone is first and foremost a phone that makes and receives good calls. My Droid X had some faults, but it had very good call quality.

I agree Droid X has excellent call quality, one of the best smartphone in terms of call quality on VZ. Reminds me of the EnvTouch call quality!!!!

I'm with you I think in terms of call quality on both ends first, then all the others features next when buying a phone!!!

I bought HTC Thunderbolt terrible call quality imo, sold it after 2 months, couldn't take the call quality!!!

Holy cow i had to scroll through endless posts and pages on rgbg and pentile. Somebody needs to put up some gifs of not 1 dead horse being beaten but hundreds lol

My god that was more painful than the camera megapixel posts :) because it went on so darn long.

Start up a seperate thread on the topic.

The difference is that for those of us who have surgically had our vanilla stock eyeballs replaced with microscopes or zoom lenses, or those who hold their phone about 2" from their face while reading, will notice a different sort of layout of pixels.

For the rest of us, it pretty much just means an extra 100 or so posts to look over. That's my take.

Yeah, I think Moto really has it down on call quality. My Droid was great, but the Bionic really ups the anti even more. Incredible. Never used a Samsung, but hoping it's just as good.

So I've tried to keep up, but reading a couple hundred posts per day is exhausting.

Is there any update to potential Verizon exclusivity? Or are we still waiting for more details? I'm hoping for NO exclusivity, as I'm on Sprint. Just wondering the latest rumor. Thanks.

Any exclusivity will be for a set period of time, as the GSM version of this phone has been certified already, in addition to the CDMA Verizon version.

Although, I see no mention of Sprint, but since we know it will not be completely exclusive to Verizon, I'd say you have a really good chance to see this phone on your network soon.

The latest rumor is that we have no idea
Unless something leaks before Tuesday night (e.g. tom fleming releases that effing panda poem any time soon), we'll just have to wait until the official announcement to find out.

The Samsung Fascinate doesn't have bad call quality per se, it is more of a radio reception issue than anything else. I can be sitting in my house with my phone, my girlfriend's phone and our home phone (we use a cell as a home phone since it is cheaper and affords us an extra upgrade :D) and my Fascinate will always have the worst reception of the bunch. There is usually a 10 to 15 dbm difference between my phone and others around me.

Not good. I use my phone for business calls.

Interesting, but I think there are some errors. And if there are one error, then likely it's just compiled rumors, most from this site.

For example, Stephen confirmed that the battery will be larger than 1750mAH.

+ i want the GSM-world-version to be 4G LTE-capable... this documents says HSPA+ only... :(
+ steven said the processor would be clocked at 1.5GHz, not 1.2
