Hello,

Please excuse me if this is a stupid question. I'm going to be getting the DROID Prime when it comes out and I was hoping that I would be able to do an advanced restore and just restore my data when Clockwork recovery comes out for it. Is this even possible since it's two different phones? The reason for this is that there are several different things like text messages and information in different apps that I would like to keep (especially the texts/picture messages). Thanks in advance for the help!

Rich,

Yeah, restoring a Nandroid backup on different phone models is not a good idea (and we'll have to wait anyway for a custom recovery to be available for the Galaxy Nexus). Backing your apps and data up with Titantium Backup might do the trick for you, though.

There are other, specific options for SMS texts, though. I haven't personally used this, but there are SMS backup and restore apps that should allow you to transfer your texts from one phone to another.

Just do a quick search for "SMS backup" in the Android Market...there are many of them out there, with tons of users for a few of them.

Good luck and cheers!
