Heavy problem with Touchscreen

Hey,

hello at all from Hamburg in Germany. I have got one big problem with the touch input of my Hero.

The screen is too sensitive. I can navigate on the screen while my finger is about 5 cm away from it. I can choose what I want, but the screen takes the right horizontal position of my finger, but not the vertical. Anything I want to take, the screen takes the one on the bottom of the screen. The same when I want to write a message or something like this. I choose the "W" or "E", but the screen takes the "X" or "C". If the display goes on Standby and I wake it again, everything is good for a few seconds, but than the same mistake comes again.

I already tried to wipe and install a new MCR, but nothing helps.

I think, but I am not sure, that I have that problem after I have installed the htc keyboard on android 2.1, as I tried it for a few hours.


Could somebody help me or have an idea, what is the cause for my problem?

Should that even be possible? o_o Only thing I can recommend is to try to calibrate the touch screen again in Settings -> Locale & Text -> Touch Input -> Text Input -> Calibration Tool. Don't really think it'd help, but worth a shot I guess.

I have already tried to recalibrate, but no way. Same problem :-(

Okay. It really sounds like a hardware issue to me. There's some talk about same kind of thing here.

Sounds still odd though that the screen would be oversensitive, but might have something to do with electrical charges that recognize touches.

Hope you get it figured out.

This isn't a problem with your hero, what's happening here is that your once dormant mutant super-powers are awakening. With the right kind of training you will eventually be able to shoot electric bolts out of your fingers or some other impressive stuff. You should seek out some kind of mentor or guru who at first will tell you that you are too wild and impulsive to train but eventually he agrees to become your master and trains you up until one day just before you are ready the bad guy kills your mentor and you have to go off and face him alone and there is a big fight and at first it looks like youre totally losing but then just at the end you remember something important your master said in a kind of flashback and you kill the bad guy. And then you also get some hot chick throw herself at you, probably cos you saved her from the bad guy or something.

Thanks for this, I had exactly the same problem. Swapped to a Nokia with a resistive touchscreen and I'm fine now.
