I just finished watching the unveiling of Android 4.0. Any idea his long it will take someone to port it to the tbolt?

EDIT:It has been ported to the tbolt, the link is on the second page along with some pictures. ***Warning:The ROM doesn't work at all, its proof of concept only***

My hopes as well for CM9. I just finished reading through a bunch of the new enhancements in ICS and I'm pretty excited just thinking about it. If it wasn't for the form factor (13mm taller than the Tbolt) I'd seriously consider getting it.

yeah... I'm one of those people that don't believe a bigger screen (leading to larger overall dimensions) is a good thing.

They said usually source is released about a month after the SDK. Keyword is usually. My guess, and that's all it is at this point, would be that they drop source about a month after they release the gnex. Again, just a guess.

I'm very excited about ICS. I was kind of on the fence about the gnex and I think last night pushed me over the top. The fact that it's a Google phone with an amazing new OS, has no manufacturer skin and will receive updates immediately is way too hard to pass up.

NYea I watched this live last night and I Think pure android 4.0 is finally enough to steer me away from sense 3.0. My concern though is A.) I'm not sitting oin am upgrade, so what will the outtright price be B.) There's no SD card slot and rumored to have no removable battery.

Needles to say I might stay with the bolt if I can't pony up the cash and/or ICS is port over to us in a timely fashion. We will see though.

The price hasn't been confirmed yet, but full retail for recently released LTE devices has been $579.

AFA no SD card, I'm sure you will be able (read: praying you will be able) to mount the device via PC. I know nothing about Samsung phones, though, so I could be completely wrong.

I asked the question of it being a PITA to flash ROMs without an SD card in IRC last night and I was immediately told by many to Google ODIN. I know ODIN makes it possible to flash things easier, but I still don't know exactly what it is or what it does. When I have more time later I'm going to ask around the Samsung forums about it

Pretty sweet, indeed. I'm definately excited for ics (moreso for cm9) but i dont think im gonna jump on the galaxy/prime bandwagon.

While I'm not afraid of the notion of not having an SD card,I don't like it. Odin sounds alot like running .exe ruu(wich is alot like rsd lite on a moto)

haha, anything is possible. i intend to play with the nexus and the rezound(vigor was much better ) and ill have to be pretty subatantially wowed by either of them to either buy off contract,or use my moms line to upgrade. my line upgrade wont be for about another 1.5 years- i used my upgrade to get the TB,and despite the issues some folks have had,the bricks, the delayed GB update, and the HTC loggers crap, its still a great phone to me and i dont regret it.

the nexus phones have just lost alot of their original appeal to me,since i know full well ill just be rooting it and running something else anyway. if i wanted a phone i could leave alone and not root, then it would be the galaxy nexus for sure. im just not fond of samsung, not fond of no sd card, not fond of the funky curved screen, and not fond of odin being the only way to flash things if the recovery and OS are borked. can you change radios and recoveryies with it to like you can PG05IMG files? but like i said, who knows. it may knock the socks off of me when it hits the stores ;)

sorry guys ive come to like seein all of you here in the forums and hate to see you move on,but im just not that excited about the nexus. now if yall wanna buy me a phone ill be happy to get to know it so i can help ya still :D:p

Leave it to Scotty to bring up bad memories with RSD lite. Given it was the reason I joined AF but God how I hate that program. From talking to people with the Nexus s ODIN isn't nearly as bad as RSD lite

it dont doubt one bit that you prolly wont use odin that much. i never had to use rsd lite on my droid 1,but it had an unlocked bootloader and a real recovery. i never effed it up to the point i couldnt fix it in recovery, and im sure the nexus will be the same.

now messing with a droid 2 for a friend was a completely different story. mr rsd lite and i got to be real good friends during that adventure, lol.

I don't know if I believe it, but P3 is very respected, so it should be taken seriously

edit: and this is why I didn't believe that post

The Panda King
vzw has their own plan for the nexus rls, before those run amuck with this I will say the device performs great on LTE..

I am also very tempted to upgrade on release.

My plan is to upgrade in December (mainly because that's when I'll have the money for it) to see how the phone is performing. If it comes out the 10th, that's going to be a HELL of a wait until I can get it sometime during the December 5-8th time frame. Full retail price, too. :O

Well aren't you just Mr. Noob Smarty Pants then

Can't...tell...what you mean by this statement. Am I supposed to ":(" or ":)" or be ashamed for having such a know-it-all statement? I wasn't meaning to knock on anyone's intelligence.

This is the worst part about getting new phones, finding new people you can trust to help you out. I miss Stephen, VoidedSaint, Scary Alien, bouc, and a few others from the Droid X forums...
I know for a fact I'll miss you guys like Yeahha (helps my sorry ass out alot!!!), Worm, Scotty, and many many others. The reason Android is so awesome for me is that I have a community of people like you guys who all help each other out. I saw we all either go for the phone or don't. :p

What were your guys problems with RSDlite? In the 20 times that I have used it the entire process went flawlessly. I liked it a lot. Although, I do prefer HTC's way of doing it with RUU's.
