ICS and the Galaxy Nexus are here! Are you impressed, or let down?

I don't know what write ups you saw on cameras of both phone. But this one seems like Nexus camera is just every bit as good as iPhone4S.

Galaxy Nexus vs. iPhone 4S comparison photos | This is my next...

IMO the Nexus shots are nicer than the iPhone in those 4 examples. The first shot of the watch is sharper in the Nexus version. The second pic of the dude is actually better in the Nexus version as well. Despite it being a little grainier, I think the it did the smarter job on metering the subject in front instead of making the subject dark and getting the surrounding area (4S version). The pic of the 2 phones is again sharper in the Nexus version, just like the watch. And the last pic is equal between the 2 phones.

I think the jury is still out on the camera quality guys. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions quite yet. The demo on stage didn't go perfectly in multiple arenas. These things happen. Heck, I remember when Steve Jobs couldn't get on Wifi during one of his iPhone presentations. Stuff happens on these presentations that are not exactly representative of the device in real life.

I guess I'll never understand it because I don't put a bunch and bunch of apps on my phones, nor a ton of music, even movies, but what is it that a lack of SD card kills it for people? I mean 16 & 32 gb native is honestly more then enough. Its not a laptop hard drive lol. Are you really going to interact with everything you put on that phone? I have a few apps I don't even mess with. I have tons of pictures but that takes up little space.

The ease of just swapping info, music, pics on the fly is useful IMO...

Cloud works for some, not others!

Diff strokes for Diff folks...

I can't believe people are not impressed with ICS.

Ok we all expected more because of the hype, but look at the bigger picture.

ICS prime function was to stop fragmentation, 1 OS for developers to go crazy on.

IMO ICS is the start of great things to come, they are not gonna throw every single thought out feature in one release, it has to be drip fed. Once developers start building on this we are gonna see some great apps, hopfully exclusive android ones, rather than apple always being 1 step ahead on the app front.

ICS is exciting stuff, present and future I cannot wait to see what google and developers bring to this OS.

as for nexus, that specific chip is designed to be clocked at 1.2 and correct me if iam wrong but samsung confirmed its clocked at that.

Apples 1.0 dual is clocked at 800mhz.

Everything else is perfected other than possibly battery and SD

Is that a phone?

But no, I didn't buy my car based on looks. That's something women do. I actually did an analysis using specs that I care about and weighted them by how important they were to me.

wow, if you cant comprehend the word drive, then i dont know if you should drive at all.

design is important as well. functionality, location of buttons, ergonomics. if you have 2 phones with the same specs, i guess you choose the one that's less visually appealing even though you like the other one better

I would want raw images to compare, also the focus in allot of these shots is different, in one you have the focus on the buildings outside and and other inside, also one looks like the images are taken at different times of the day looking at the lighting and shadows, that's not how you compare cameras.

Knowing that Engadget attempts every way possible to make Apple products look better, I'm sure in real life Galaxy Nexus takes even better shots. Their articles are often blatantly baseless or their so-called tests are hardly objective. I'm happy with what Galaxy Nexus is offering and it'll definitely be my next phone.
