No offense meant, but why do you care? I've seen you say in many threads you haven't been impressed by this phone or ICS and you probably aren't getting the phone. I'm curious why it's an issue for you that there's no release date? As someone who is getting this phone I'm happy as can be they finally announced it.

We will get confirmation on storage, price and release/pre order dates. One step at a time people

I've said numerous times, in numerous threads that I will most likely get both the Galaxy Nexus and the DROID Razr and see which one I like better!

And the reason why I care is...

The longer it takes for these phones to release, the less I will get for my Bionic at CEX in NYC.

In 1 week they're buying price for the Bionic has gone from $380 down to $340

Still asking the question - are the specs trustworthy?

TI's web page says the 4430 maxes out at 1 GHz.

Looks like they changed the model number but not the clock to me.

I doubt they will benchmark much different. Only thing I figure that might be different is GPU and the Nexus has more pixels for it to push.

probably won't be a huge difference in benchmark. but what do you think will be better on battery life and longevity? an overclocked 4430 or an underclocked 4460?

Doesn't matter either way to me. The Razr could grant up to three wishes (one of them being a nexus) and I would still want the Gnex. For me.. it's all about the vanilla experience and quick updates.

If you are right I may just skip this phone even though I do really want it.

Not to mention the google support that will last much longer than the RAZR's. Potentially not being able to unlock the bootloader and use custom roms (absolute deal breaker for me, but thats just me). and how much is that 32 GB SD card that most people wouldn't already have? it seems you're including that in the $299 price point.

They displays are similar tech and I figure many will find them similar in sharpness since the display is big enough not to need to look close. The RAZR display is a bit smaller also improving pixel density. I am expecting them to be pretty similar unless you look real close.

Agree 100% on BL and that's the reason I will probably go with Nexus.

The Droid RAZR does have 32gb total memory for $299. Was just pointing out the fact that half of that is a 16gb mSD means you can actually get to 48gb if you want to spend a bit more.

Basically I don't see the unlocked BL and ICS being a price increaser unless the sole purpose is to reduce sales. I doubt Samsung/Google would go for that though if they have the say they should.

I tend to agree with you here, especially because the prices would be a lot knider to my wallet

I see it being $199.99 for 16GB version and $299.99 for the 32GB version, but we'll see; maybe they are still deciding the price point, and that's why the pricing was not released...

I agree I think it will be $299 for 32GB, and if they get it $249 for 16GB. Although I think if they only get the 16GB they could price that at $299. But I don't see them going over $299.

i agree and i wasn't really sure what you meant about the RAZR's memory. i just assumed you were talking about it having 48gb for $299. i don't think verizon can go that high in pricing. they just started selling $300 subsidized price. no reasoning can justify that price jump. i mean what do they sell their tablets subsidized?

Yeah wasn't the cutoff date for last unlimited data July 7th? And if you had it before then whether 3g or 4g you get to keep it for at least your next upgrade even with 4g?

IMO, LTE or not, the iphone in most mainstream consumers eyes sets the standard for cell phones and in tow, what they cost. if google/sammy/vzw want to have a successful launch and product, they cant expect to sell a 16gb nexus at 299 when the average consumer will compare it to a 16gb iphone at 199, lte or not.

It wasn't announced per say, but Motorola did confirm it was an OMAP 4430 in the Razr, so we have to assume that it's overclocked to 1.2GHz, unless it releases as 1GHz.

This is the last I have to say on the subject:

Just because you have their contact information doesn't mean it's appropriate or reasonable to organize a mass campaign harassing them about a topic you know NOTHING about. What if they didn't announce it because there were flaws that they were working on and they didn't want to lead people on by announcing a phone that was still a month out? What if they were having trouble with manufacturing and couldn't get enough inventory and were holding off on the announcement until they had sufficient stock?

This is ridiculous. I don't orchestrate an email campaign to the personal email addresses or public social media pages of Toyota because I want next year's model released early. Is everyone not adult enough to wait until the product is ready?

That's it, I'm done with this line of discussion because it could very easily turn personal. I just think it was in very poor taste.

Hate to tell you this but the customers are VZW. We pay their salaries through our monthly payments and phone purchases. Not to mention some of us may own stock since VZW is a PUBLICLY traded corporation.

That being said in the simplest definition they are our employees and my employees are not above hearing my wishes, demands or.what have you.

Excellent point, but Verizon seems like they have a firewall seperating the 4G phone priocing from the rest. Plus this phone is not their baby, and they don't have to compete with two other carriers, at least not at first, so I don't see them having a need to be as competitive. But I hope your logic holds for the 16GB.

Think that is just assumed based on 4430 standard speed being 1ghz.

I still say it's a lower binned 4460 anyhow with maybe GPU speed a few other options set different is all anyhow. Would be nice if such info was published.

Neagative.....it laymens terms it just a better quality 4430 chip. It clocks at 1.2 GHZ while the one in the Droid 3 clocks at 1GHZ. Stepping is the term. if you Google it it gives you a nice breakdown

I have a problem with emailing them, strictly because that is their work email, and I don't feel requesting info on a phone release is a worthy reason to interrupt their day. That is what front line customer service is for. Contacting executives should be limited for serious issues that front line employees could not or refuse to resolve. If everyone contacted execs for every little thing, they will just firewall the email address and reduce the effectiveness of that action.

I don't think TI really sells specific speed to a customer like Moto or Samsung. Guessing they get whatever they want based on margin and order size as far as bin and stepping and it's upto them what the shipping clocks are so nothing is really over or underclocking really.

yea, i just dont think they can sit a 16gb nexus with a 5mp camera in the same building as a 16gb iphone with an 8mp cam and charge an extra $100 for it and expect it to sell,, LTE or not. we all know that numbers arent the whole picture, but when it boils down to it, 95% of customers dont know that.

I would agree if companies like VZW working in a transparent and fully truthful fashion on such matters from top who we were e-mailing to bottom who you deal with at the front line. They don't operate that way though so the top should expect some e-mail direct from customers sometimes. If there are issues being raised the front line can't answer well, it's upto those above them to field the questions.
