Hey guys, I know the phone hasn't been out very long, but I'm anxious to know how everyone is liking it so far. I've read terrible reviews of the original transform and am concerned about this screen sensitivity issue on the ultra. What do you guys think so far? Should I trade in my Prevail? Should I wait for a firmware update or a modded rom? Anyone know if there's a chance of getting cyanogenmod on this phone?

On a side note, anyone heard or know anything about this new ZTE Warp coming out?

Lemme just start off saying the transform ultra is my first android phone now that that's out of the way I am loving my phone sure the screen is sensitive but I'm sure a screen protector would fix that no? Also not used to the keyboard but I just need time for that I've only had the phone for about a day and a half and I haven't rooted it yet but I plan to soon hopefully. The phone definitely exceeds my expectations and I defitinely look forward to what ill be able to do with it

You need the option of answering "Hell yeah, I have it and love it!" on your poll. :D Personally, I love it. I think it's a MUCH better phone than the Prevail, but you should really go to a store and check it out in person. Trading in your Prevail should be a decision you make when you've been able to see for yourself what the Ultra is all about. Sure, with all new models it'll have its little quirks, but it's only a matter of time till the hard working guys/gals here get those straightened out. I would rather have a screen that's a little more sensitive than one that doesn't respond. I have a screen protector on mine and to me it doesn't seem as sensitive as being naked. I'm by no means a tech-savy person, so I can't really say much about the firmware, modded ROM, or cyanogenmod - hell, I don't even know what that last one is...lol. As far as that ZTE Warp, well, just one word will do...yuck. I just don't like it, but that's me. Someone mentioned (and I experienced it, too) having an issue with apps being difficult to move around the home screens, but someone else said that when they use as much of their thumb/fingertip as they could it wasn't an issue (as I found to be true also). Hope this helps in your decision. :)

Just in case you were wondering about the camera the rear camera is good the flash is extremely bright I can't say the same for the front facing camera though its not all that great but hey its just an option afterall as far as the 3g I'm getting about 700 down and 20 up like I said this phone definitely delivered. I hear the prevail had lag issues so I waited to buy this one and I am not dissapointed at all. If I had root I would take some pics of the benchmark test and the 3g speeds for you :/.

I saw someone was having issues with their videos on their phone after rooting and I don't want to brick my phone since I've never rooted a droid before but if its a 1 click root I guess I could do it ill do it once I manage to get ahold of my laptop. What does root allow me to do if you don't mind me asking aside from root apps?

Edit: Also I managed to get on my laptop and I see the .bat file but do I just connect my phone in mass storage mode and run the .bat file? I didn't see a readme or anything inside the folder :\ I really do not want to screw up my phone cause I love it lol.

Coming from a blackberry, and the prevail. I love the ultra, super fast, great screen, and root!
The only problem(s) I've had with it was the dragging/dropping issue and an incident with the glass on my screen wasn't adhered very well so it started to separate from the phone. Waiting on samsung to repair and send it back.

Overall, I would definitely buy another. The phone outperforms other phones in numerous benchmarks (due to the lower resolution maybe?). Very happy with it.

Well, you guys convinced me. I bought the phone yesterday. I have to say, it is pretty bad ass. This screen/dragging issue has me pretty worried though. I'm willing to have some faith that either Samsung or someone here will release some kind of update to fix it, but if it's a hardware problem then we're all screwed. I supposed it's tolerable with normal use, but it makes anything that uses on screen controls (such as emulators) unplayable. I'm also a little disappointed with the keyboard. The A key is in an awkward spot and the space key is hard to hit. Overall I suppose its still a good deal. The Ultra is really smooth and responsive.

Anyone have any news on fixing this screen issue?

I did a benchmark test 10 times with Quadrant Standard and it gave these score results: 2331, 2116, 2408, 2228, 2213, 2293, 2331, 2242, 2202, 2351 (Ave 2271.5)
It took 41-45 seconds to do the full test.
... ...

Tested the Prevail 5 times: 561, 556, 576, 569, 559 (Ave 564.2)
And fell between Samsung Galaxy S and Nexus One
It took 59-62 seconds to do the full test

i average 2271 with Quadrant

Have you gotten your phone back? Did they happen to fix this screen sensitivity/dragging issue?

Loving my Ultra! I came from a Droid 1 on Verizon and I couldn't be happier with this phone! The major thorns in my side with the Droid was that it would lag when swiping from screen to screen, apps were slow and loaded slowly, and Verizon isn't very powerful where I live. Ultra is 100% better in every way, with the exception of battery life...I get about 6-8 hours before I have to charge the phone...I am not a huge internet/email/app user, but I do occasionally use them, and with a couple of 20-30 min phone calls and about 6-8 hrs since charge...the battery is about gone. Then when I charge it, it takes about 3-4 hours to get a full charge. Hate to say this but I will accept this issue! This phone is so much better than my Droid 1, and I am paying much, much less for MORE!
