Answer calls by voice

Hey

Im looking for a application that lets me answer calls by voice by saying a prerecorder word of my choosing. While at first appears like a gimmick, its nice for when you are in the shower, a call comes in and you dont want to hit the screen with wet hands. Say the word and the phone picks up the call and (optionally) turns on the loadspeaker.

What application can I use?

I might have explained myself incorrectly.

When someone is calling (and it says Contact 1 and the number that is calling) you can swipe (on my Cyanogen) from left to right to pick up and from right to left to refuse the call. What Im looking for is to say, with my voice while some is calling (for example) the words from my mouth, "Pick up" and Android automatically accepts the call and (for example) puts the caller on the speaker.

I don't think you understood what I meant. I meant: don't panic when the phone rings and you're in the shower. Simply let the phone ring, let the voice mail answer (this is precisely the situation you have voice mail for; they will leave a message if it's important; if it isn't – and it usually isn't – you've saved yourself unnecessary panic), and leisurely enjoy your shower, as you had planned.
When you're finished, at your convenience, you can call back with dry hands, quietly sitting down instead of staring at yourself bare-naked in the mirror, dripping all over the place.

I hate people who call me when I'm in the shower! They can wait their turn.

I don't know of an app to do this. While it sounds nice in theory, the power requirements for this would probably make it a massive battery drainer.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of android, but I would guess at the least that this app would have to keep the mic awake on a constant cycle. As well as what ever other requests the app would make of the system.

The phone is asleep then it rings, at this time the mike is activated, you then say a programmed 'word" and the phone goes into answer mode which also activates the speaker. To end the call you say a programmed "word" and the phone goes back to sleep. This would be great when I am driving or have my hands full and can't answer the phone. Just a note here - Because of how things are, if my family calls I need to answer it.

I think Timeclock explained it exactly the way I would have to your reply on battery draining.

Nope. Went thru the app and cant find any option that allows this.

Hey I'm not too proud the to admit when someone proves me wrong. I never thought of the ring being the catalyst. I always say, you learn something everyday.

Yes, thats a alternative solution but not the one Im looking for, sorry.

I'm sure it's possible. Jarvis the texting robot has a feature like this for texting while driving. Sadly I can't think of an app that does it currently

1: Im not sure if you have a weight scale to weigh ingredients in your home, but if you put a sack of potatos on the weight scale and then turn it on, the scale with show 0. If you remove the sack, it will show -180 (lets say the weight of the potatos was 180)

EDIT: Actually has some nice features. It isn't "voice activated" per se, but it automatically answers calls after a set time (that you can vary). Enables them to be opened in speaker phone. Another nice feature is that you can select which calls you want it to answer: all/specified contacts/lists/etc...

So, if you are in the shower and an 800 # comes in, you may set phone to not answer that. But, if you want it to answer calls from family, boss, work, etc...it will. Pretty neat.

Never even though about something like this until today. Hope it helps!

He answered stating that it is a good idea and is possible. He'll try to include it in the next version
