Hello everyone!
I'm a new member to the Android Forums community and was hoping if you could help me out. I have an Acer Iconia Tab A500 with 16GB of memory running Android HoneyComb 3.2. I have a problem with the music player (the stock app, along with the Acer Media one as well). All my music is in the "Music" folder on the drive. When I play a song and lock the screen with the power button the player ends the song and does not go on. This repeats for shuffle, repeat all, repeat one. Acer Media may get some songs through, say 2 or 3 but that's it, it freezes again. The only way to get it to play along is to unlock the screen. My screen is password protected so I just have to press the power button every time I need it to continue. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Wow that was fast!
I did try songbird just now, same problem. Also I don't like how it bypasses the lock screen and allows you to change songs. I'm sure this can be changed in the settings but if it doesn't work it's of little use to me. Thanks for the help anyways! I'll try the other apps now.

If none of the music apps work I would wonder if there is a bug in the 3.2 update that stops a music app from playing when the screen locks. We need someone else with 3.2 to test this and see if they get the same result.

Right well none of them worked. :/ Anyone else have any ideas? Should install some other ROM or something?

Well since you updated to 3.2 you can't root it as no one has come up with a root method yet. That's one reason I haven't done the update yet. I think I saw someone post a method of flashing back to 3.0 then rooting and flashing a 3.2 stock rom.

That might not be the best option but at least I'm glad it's not only happening to me. Thanks 2manyPHONES, you've been a great help!

No problem sorry we couldn't come up with a fix but I'll keep my eye out for any updates to this issue. My cousin is supposed to come over and she updated her Acer to 3.2 so I'll tinker with hers in the name of research.

I hate to say this but im running stock 3.2 and been through 4 songs already and going. Screen is completely off and I also have the lock pattern. I do realize i have some shitty songs on this thing. I want to delete them but then the test would not be right. ARG....

Okay i cant handle nothing compares to you... DELETING...

I do have my music on an SD card if that helps any. So far that seems to be the only difference between us.

WOW it stopped... Noticed it was on an image though. Maybe thats the issue. Looking into it more... Okay found that there was some fake .mp3 files on the sd card under games. Deleted them. Restarted device and will be looking into it while i drive on the road.

Cool i now have something to do today :)

Edit 3... after it playing for over an hour I did not notice any stoppage. I also had the unit locked. It continued to play when I went to the store for 10 minutes and when i came back to the car I turned on the ignition and bam it was still playing. (Had it linked to the car stereo)

Maybe the player is picking up some false mp3`s

I doubt I'll find any fake MP3 files, but I'll still look for them. Uhm, you said something about it freezing on an image or something?

Yea i noticed when it stopped, i opened up the app and seen it was an image. Did this multiple times too. So once i tracked that image down it had a .mp3 attached to it. (fake mp3) and there were lots. So i removed that file and everything seems to be going well.
