Well half if these posts are not about the nexus anyway its just people getting off on a tangent.

That's because we have absolutely scrutinized and dissected every last millimeter and pixel of this phone and operating system.

With no real news since the Verizon announcement on friday, there's really not much else to analyze.

So we wait. (BORED)

Good morning all. I found this too funny to pass up.

Jeez, those ARE expensive. If I get this, I can wait on the multimedia dock. I'd only want it for charging/bedside mode anyway so it's not a must-have right away.

I'm searching for a new phone, and I've narrowed it down to the Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4s. I'm pretty sure ICS won't be available for my Droid X. If Verizon really does get one in stores soon, I will go check one out in person. If it's for me, then I'll order it... I'd rather activate it myself than have the store rep do it.

Though I am probably getting the Razr, I would choose the Nexus every day and invent an eighth day over the iPhone. I LUV my iPod 4, but iTunes gateway seems counter-intuitive and restricting for a smart phone.

IF I were an Apple fan (not), and IF I lived in a 3G-only area that wouldn't see 4G until 2013 (not), then iPhone 4S might be an option. But pit the 4S against an LTE Nexus and I see an almost unfair fight... Nexus wins HANDS DOWN.

Verizon has pledged to blanket the nation with 4G LTE by 2013 (even my remote in-laws will be covered! :D ) so you folks even remotely considering 4S please keep that in mind when considering a 3G-only device.

Is Siri cool? Yep, but so is Android's SpeakToIt Assistant. Does iPhone work well? Sure it does. But when you weigh the benefits of each against the potential disadvantages, I don't see any contest. My 0.02 :)

phonearena just posted a galaxy nexus preview. pretty good read and camera samples check it out and lets get this thread back to a fever pitch and start bombing the verizon twitter for a date! haha

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Preview

Interesting. From the look of the software buttons (on the first page; haven't gotten to the second page yet), it appears they had an older firmware.

These guys do not like that design! But playing with the rotation tool, I'm finding that I really like the design, plastic or no plastic.

Good morning! I didn't read through the last few pages but I did see the headphone discussion start and stop. It was funny...I was thinking...I love this thread! I get to learn about different takes on all sorts of stuff while waiting on the Nexus. Oh wait, maybe not. :(

While I very much appreciate active modding on this thread for keeping the environment friendly, I think as long as things don't foray into flaming, personal attacks, and boring repetition I do like to see things such as upcoming phones, headphone/sound tech, megapixels, and yes even processors discussed here. How many posts did we see about megapixels before asked to move along? Lots, and just enough I think. It was interesting. I frankly don't have the time to spend with other threads, and what else is there to do? :p

Anyway, Steven, Early, love you guys! Awesome job you are doing! What do I know about modding? Just wanted to put out my 2 cents.

*head explodes* This phone can't come soon enough. My D2 is constantly rebooting, the GPS randomly won't connect, and now it's popping up my calendar reminders after the meeting actually start. Grrr.

As far as accessories, I absolutely will buy the dock. I have a universal car mount so I don't really care about a car dock (husband and I can both use it this way). A

nd here's a related question: on my D2 it has a dock mode, where I can access my alarms, or dim the screen and things like that from the dock mode screen. Is that a Motoblur thing, or a stock Android? If it's Blur I hope we get something similar, because I really like that a lot.

I agree! A couple thousand posts back I really tried to get a deep discussion going regarding the fascination with both deep dish pizza and hot-but-geeky-looking-girls (kind of like how you don't see them every day, but when you do, it's a nice treat!) but that was promptly deleted.

JK, I never brought that up. :p

But now that I think about it, it's a very important discussion!

I'm not a huge iOS fan either... I much prefer the Android interface. I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen and I love it as a music player, but I don't use it for anything else. I don't really care for the layout of iOS but it's something I'd learn to live with. I'm tired of buying smartphones that stop getting supported/updated shortly after purchase (first an HTC Eris, now probably my Droid X). It's most likely because I've always been "late to the party" with smartphones but I finally have an upgrade opportunity AND the money to buy one of these devices. Since the iPhone 4S just came out, and the Galaxy Nexus is just about to come out, I'm gonna get one or the other so I can have the latest/greatest and actually have a device that's supported for longer than a few months.

4G speeds aren't important to me... I'm not on Facebook or Twitter (gasp!) and the 3G speeds of my Droid X are fine for me for web browsing and email. The majority of my online experience is done with my Asus TF over wifi so 4G speeds on a phone aren't a high priority.

The fact that the Galaxy Nexus is built by Samsung makes me quite nervous... I went through three Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices that all had hardware issues, and most people I know that have Samsung Galaxy-something phones are always complaining about them. My wife has an iPhone and many folks I know have iPhones and I'm aware of what it's capable of. Those are the reasons I'm shopping between a Galaxy Nexus and an iPhone 4S.

Kind of like finding a hot-but-geeky-looking-guy, always nice a nice treat. (Even better if they are not the shy type and want to talk too!)

As far as deep dish pizza, I don't understand the fascination with it - I much prefer a very thin, almost cracker-like, crust.

On our regularly scheduled programming - I hope the accessories come down in price some by the time I get this phone .
Do we think that there will be the external battery charger for a spare battery for this? I've gotten very very spoiled by the fact that I can swap out my batteries on my DInc and charge them so I'm not attached to a cord.

I know it doesn't have the Verizon 4GLTE logo, but I'm wondering if it is the LTE version that they have photographed? It looks "fatter" than what we saw on launch day.

That's what my wife says are my best attributes! She finds me attractive, but I'm a nerd who can't stop talking (I'm sure you guys can attest to the talking part)!

Crispy, thin ass pizza? You might as well smear some tomato sauce on a Saltine. (Of course, I'm a Chicagoan, so I'm partial to real pizza.)

On our regularly scheduled programming, I think we will see extended batteries, but I don't know about external battery chargers. I hope so. I'd much rather swap batteries than turn my phone into a freaking camel.
