I know it doesn't have the Verizon 4GLTE logo, but I'm wondering if it is the LTE version that they have photographed? It looks "fatter" than what we saw on launch day.

I don't think the verizon version will be that much fatter. i mean samsung has a pretty thin lte phone overseas so I could see it being maybe a mm thicker or so. Guess we will find out when verizon announces a release date.

i saw a post a few pages back someone asking about the Gps and radio track record of Samsung. nobody answered this question? has Samsung addressed these issues on this phone? especially the GPS issues from previous Samsung phones:thinking::thinking:

The GPS issue was fixed in the SGSII, according to most reports. Also, the barometer installed in the SGN is supposed to help pinpoint your location with higher accuracy and speed.

Samsung has a poor track record, but seems to be improving with handsets like the SGSII.

As for this phone? Who knows.
I will say that I didn't see bad reviews of the radio and GPS performance of the Droid Charge, which is also a LTE phone on Verizon.

But track record, while somewhat important, doesn't mean that they can't screw this design up, or make it signifigantly better. We will all have to see, and maybe some reviews will help.

I know I'm in a serious minority here but I really don't use my phone for the GPS. So while I hope it's good and works - it's just gotta be able to tell me close to where I am if I get lost.

Interesting. From the look of the software buttons (on the first page; haven't gotten to the second page yet), it appears they had an older firmware.

These guys do not like that design! But playing with the rotation tool, I'm finding that I really like the design, plastic or no plastic.

Also keep in mind that they said they got hold of a prototype. Not a released version.

No Gorilla Glass and a pentile screen! This phone is a POS! JK:D

Corning: Gorilla Glass is Not on the Galaxy Nexus

I know that Steven told us that a Samsung rep told Rob in HK that it was definitely Gorilla Glass, but I had my doubts because it seems like in that type of fast-moving, jam-packed environment, not anyone knows everything but they just spout off information as if they know what they're talking about.

It is disappointing though. I don't want to have to put a screen protector on it, and I know that with the curve, I wouldn't be able to put it on right anyway. Knowing my skills, I'd have a huge crease or bubble in the middle of the screen.

Oh well. Hope I never forget to not throw it in with my keys or change, even though I do it all the time with my OG Droid.

I remember way back 10000 posts or so everyone was freaking out about how severe the curvature of the screen was. I said it actually looked less curved than the Nexus S. And it is.

The one thing I wish it shared with the Nexus S is how the Nexus S's screen was so dark when it was off the whole front looked like a tinted window and you couldn't differentiate where the screen began and ended.

Well with his bed buddy P3Droid telling everyone to panic because of delays, it makes sense that people are confused. It'll come when it comes. I'm thinking 11/10, but I'll be very pleasantly surprised if it's the 3rd. :D

I'm an active guy and have scratched both devices with and without GG, so this doesn't really mean anything to me. I'll be using some sort of screen protector. Keys are really not something to worry about, all it takes is a little bit of sand in your pocket and that screen will get scratched.

I actually like the curvature of the screen also. People will complain about everything with a new phone it never ends. It could be perfect and people would complain it isnt perfect enough lol.

I think p3 is trying to throw people off and contradict black man so people get confused and then try and build up the hype maybe?

I'm looking forward to trying a phone with a curve. It sounds like it will sit better in my hand.

I am 99% sure it will have a screen protector as well - I learned with my DInc and my Kindle that it just takes patience and uninterruped time. (So it will be applied somewhere around 1 in the morning when no one will bother me)

I do think that's part of it. But while BMX has been consistent and steady with his info (and the fact that he works for Google and has a lot of contacts in higher-up VZ), p3Droid is just making himself look like an idiot. I don't see why he would ruin his credibility in order to hype up 1 phone. But then again, idiots don't behave rationally all the time. :p

Either way..highly contemplating taking the day off to go grab it, but if its November 3rd, I'd like VZW to go ahead and announce it. It's putting a cramp on my schedule :D

Actually, what works the best is if you go into the bathroom, shut the door, (yes, I'm being serious, this isn't some quasi-porn thing), turn the hot water from your shower on at full blast for about 2 minutes (before everything gets steamy), and put the cover on then. All the dust particles will have been pushed down to the ground by the moisture in the steaming process and you'll have a clean screen. Whether you want to strip down and dance to an African tribal drum beat and juggle your phone afterwards is up to you.

Guys.... Gorilla Glass is a BRAND NAME. They might not be using "Gorilla Glass" (the brand) but I bet you it will have another high strength glass.

Just like how Kleenex = Tissue

But dammit, I only use Kleenex! All those other tissues are knock-off imposters, and my nose knows it!

Look back a few pages - most of us won't let the reps near our phones more than absolutely necessary. :D

I wondered where you were going with that - but thanks for the tip - I do believe I will use that. No juggling - I fear that would end badly. Might strip down and dance to the tribal drum though. :p
