Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting on here. I just got the HTC Magic and i LOVE it. Its my first touch screen and even my mates with thier iphones are starting to admit its better however i have come up with a problem. I Used to you my sony c902i As a modem for my laptop connecting via bluethooth. However when i connected my phone to my laptop it says the only services my phone offers is a head set service. I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or something so i can do this. I have searched the app market store and cant find anything.

thanks for any help
Matt

I have been having the same problem... this is possible, you need an app for it, from my knowledge the process is called tether or tethering, but there is a catch, you need to root (crack/hack/etc) your magic before the app can work, which seems to be not possible as of yet.

They have found ways to root the G1 so the tether programs work but its not possible on the magic yet, its not been out for long yet for someone clever to find a way.

(main problem being no hard keyboard to enter commands when phone is recovery/setup mode)

i searched for PdaNet app on the market not there? is there anywhere else we can find it?

I tried looking for pdanet on android market aswell i couldnt find anything. Thanks for the quick replies though. I hope someone comes up with an app quick because the magic is seriously lacking in bluetooth functions.

Here is a link ... There are versions for 32bit and Vista ... useable on non-rooted phones ....

PdaNet -- FOR Android

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I downloaded the pdanet no probs but i got to the screen which asks you to connect the magic to the computer. I did this ensuring i ticked the debugging via usb and clicked mount on the phone. However vista 64bit just seems to want to keep it as a usb stick !!!!! I have done some research and found a driver to install but its not got a cert and you have to start vista in safe mode and stuff. Surly GOOGLE of all people have a more main stream driver !!!!! the SKD has one but does it work for vista 64bit?? and its 150mb which will take an age on this uni net.

thanks for all the help
