Preorders Begin Tomorrow

I'm curious whose going to jump in early and end their personal SGN vs Razr debate like me and preorder the Razor tomorrow? I know I want to get it over with before I change my mind again.....LOL

I decided the most appealing thing about the Nexus (for me) is ICS and if it's coming to to the Razr in a couple of months, it's worth the wait! Combining the Razor's features with ICS, we will truly have a fun phone! As long as we have our external battery packs handy.

Good luck!

If everything goes as planned and they do drop the phone for pre-order, I will mostlikely get it. I have been a fan of Motorola since I got the DX and feel like this is going to be a solid phone. I hope I don't eat those words once I get it. :) Coming from an iPhone 4, which I have now, I am really glad to be coming back to Android.

I sold my Incredible and Thunderbolt (phone from hell) to pay for this new phone. Shortly after selling them my wife decided she liked my Charge more than her IPhone so I got stuck with her IPhone 4 which I HATE. Believe me, this is the only reason I'm not waiting on reviews. Anyway I figure 2 weeks with the Razr will give me enough time to tell if it's going to work for me or not.

I'm with you, though I wouldn't say that I hate the iPhone, I was just very disappointed in the new iOS5. I was holding out for good things to come when that dropped and it was a big letdown. I was always impressed with the dev community and the new OS versions that came with Android and I am looking forward to that again.

I was going to wait on the HTC phone as I've always been a HTC guy, I've never bought anything else as I love sense!

Unfortunately the Thunderbolt left a sour taste in my mouth so I'm ready to try Motorola for the first time. While it is true I've never bought anything but HTC phones, Verizon did end up giving me the Samsung Charge after I unsuccesfully went through 5 Thunderbolt units trying to find one that wouldn't malfunction. After the 5th and a lawsuit threat by me they supplied me with a brand new charge that performed flawlessly other than the GPS suffering issues, I guess that's why the wife took custody.

So this will be my first Motorola!

Waiting for it to hit stores! On that day I should be camped out in the vzw store my friend manages, and be pretty busy for about an hour with the store demo...lol

If it's all good I'll buy it retail...14 return policy anyway...so nothing to loose.

Use the ever livin' heck out of it! Plenty of browser based Flash content, games, videos etc. Push it to the brink! Need to know if the Razr is a hot running device.

Also test the sound quality from the 3.5mm jack. Bionic has issues and so did the DX2. Droid 3 did not, but two out of their last three devices have audio issues.

Yea he usually just gives me the Demo before they even hook it up on the display, and I go play in a corner somewhere..lol! So no junk running in the background at all from a million people messing around with it. I'll just put it through some paces, try out the key features like Speed, call quality, speaker quality, camera quality, i'll bring a pair of headphones and listen to some Sirius radio to see how it sounds as well!

I'm pretty critical when testing out a new phone...if all those things are good on the fly, I'll buy it and really get to workin it hard the next 2 weeks...wooo hooo!!!

Hey guys let me ask your opinion on something. I'm just an old retired guy with a fixation on Baseball (DCNATS) and like tech but have no where the knowledge level of most of you since I didn't grow up with a lot of it. Anyway, what's your opinion of the SGN vs the Razr and the SGN in general if ICS wasn't in the picture? Would the Galaxy Nexus even be in the ballpark with the SGS2 for instance? Also with Google taking over Motorola are we confident that the Razor will in fact get ICS in a timely manner?
Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the help!!

Give a peek to the GNex vs Razr threads, a whole lot of back and forth in there about which does what better, of course its all just assumptions as hardly any of us have used either device...however, most of your common questions can be answered in there! ; )

And I honestly have to say, why on earth hasn't vzw given a solid release date for this phone yet? Just makes zero sense IMO! Are they going to go by how many preorders they get? Which IMO wont be too many because only people like us even know about it right now anyway.

Just release the Razr and GNex alongside each other and call it a day vzw...

What problems do you have with the GPS? That's why I'm hesitant to buy the Nexus, Samsung is notorious for having GPS issues. I can't figure out why, it isn't as if it's new tech.

Sadly that'll never happen! My guess is due to the relationship VZW has with Motorola they are likely getting the RAZR at a better price point than they get the GNex. Assuming for a moment that this is true, it's in their best interest to sell more RAZR's.

Yea the relationship part I get with moto, its been known for a while vzw is very wrapped up with moto!

However, how's this is going to work I would love to know? The GNex has been pegged for a Nov launch for a while now! So I can't see it not coming, especially since its been speculated that vzw has a short exclusive. If I had to guess I'd say 14 after the Razr launches, we'll see the GNex in stores.

I think it's going to be a December launch for the GNex.
