Verizon always takes weeks to test before release. Once they pulled it, it was going to take min 4 weeks plus time to fix the problem plus HTC test time.

This delay is so far exactly what should have been expected once pulled the release.

If you need gingerbread, before buying a new phone, root. Test gb. Should hold off the new phone needs for a while. You should also get a taste of ics on rom too.

Then you can go buy a new phone after getting mmaximum millage on incredible.

HTC tweeted to me:

GamingAge
@htc @VZWsupport today said they are working with HTC to re-release a bug-fixed Gingerbread 2.3.4 for the HTC Incredible. Any ETA on that?

htc
@GamingAge No specific date yet. It should be ready soon. Thanks for being so patient.

Yeah, they will both look bad if they don't push a fix to those with a buggy GB version and not finish the cycle for those on Froyo, so I believe it is coming "soon".

They sure did a whole lot of testing on this rollout the first time...

His statement should be parsed as "they told me that it should be ready to go immediately after this Thunderbolt latest GB update that started yesterday."

How do you infer that? I think it's said exactly what they meant - it'll be ready sometime after the Thunderbolt GB update.. could be a day after, could be months after. Both Verizon and HTC are pretty good at the ambiguous game.

It's a miracle!

Haven't received Gingerbread update on HTC Incredible - Verizon Wireless Community

"Hello forum members,

I am please to advise that the rollout of Gingerbread has started, again! lol. The rollout began on 10/25. Although I don't know how long it will take to complete, historically software updates takes about 7-14 days to finish wirelessly. Please understand that if there is an unforeseen issue with the rollout then we are available to assist on the forums as well as on Twitter. Congratulations to those who has already received the update successfully! I'm sure that you will enjoy the enhancements to the device that this software update provides!

Thank you...

EDIT: I have my doubts. Thunderbolt update started rolling out 10/25...

Yeah, well, I asked them to VERIFY that they are talking about the INCREDIBLE and not the THUNDERBOLT - which also just started re-rolling out.

Wouldn't be the first time a Verizon rep posted incorrect information in the forum! I'll believe it when I see it...

LOL. I just replied to your post over there. Verizon reps really know nothing most of the time. Most common solution: Factory reset!

Yup. They've posted in the Incredible forums when asked about GB that "yeah, it's out and has been pushed" and then a couple messages later you'd see they meant the Incredible 2!

...Hmmmm.. reminds you of anyone? Who's name rhymes with Blevan?
