Who ported this to 1.5?
What is it?

Understood, Im new around here and am mainly a lurker, and am new to Android.

I found it over at Android MoDaCo forums, also posted at XDA Forums. I installed it and am running with no issues, but I dont know who actually ported it.

It is the Weather and News Widget from the Nexus One.

Just downloaded and scanned. The file is safe if anyone is curious. No idea why it is in a rar file though.

Hi Everyone....

I have come over from the Crackberry side. I am a theme designer and can upload some icon packs if anyone is interested. I have very authentic iPhone icons, mac you name it I can find or create it.

Can someone explain how to install a downloaded program such as this one? I'm aware of how to get apps from the market but not sure how to install apps and widgets that are downloaded to my desktop.

You will need an app installer. You can get one from the market for free. I use the appropriately named Apps Installer. You will also need to go to Settings> Applications and check the box next to Unknown Sources. Once those 2 are done you can simply put the .apk file on your SD card and open the app installer to find it and install it.

Ditto... not sure what to do with a .rar file and can't download the .apk off of Rapid Share because their "servers are overloaded and we have no more download slots left for non-members."

It looks cool I guess. But I got rid of it; it seems redundant to everything Eris has by default.
