It's here, ALPHA 2.1 (10-19-2011)

This just in.... :D

Additionaly for those who installed the update using CWM,
it's missed in the notes, but you still better run ACMEInstaller at least one (can e.g. reinstall moboot, or cwm with it)..
There is updated script for webOS being installed that helps with future webOS updates so that you no longer need to reinstall moboot after them.

Alpha 2 is released - Page 3

I assume he means use Acme installer so that future webOS updates won't break moBoot. :D

This may be a dumb question, and I preface a lot of my questions here with that, but how can I put my .epub ebooks on to the TouchPad? It's already running CM7.

I did a little research, and found that the kindle app won't read .epub, so I downloaded the Calibre converter program. I converted them to .mobi, which I believe the Kindle app reads. I dropped the files into first the root of the tablet, and then the palmkindle and kindle folders on the card. How do I get them to show up in the kindle library?

I was definitely not happy with the speed my TP was charging on the Touchstone. It looks like it was a software issue though (saw it in the release notes), seems to be working much better now.

That's funny, I was surprised at how quickly it was charging on the Touchstone (even prior to the upgrade). I figured inductive charging would be MUCH less efficient than it is on the TP.

Prior to the upgrade I was seeing, oh, I don't know, maybe a third longer than plugging it directly in the wall. IMO, given the technology, I didn't think that was too bad.

I hit space instead of tapping it (unless it's not the main one suggested)

But untitled1, I kinda hated it on the tablet too, I have it on my phone and it sped up my typing by almost double over swype which is my next fasted input method. But on the tablet it's just not clicking for me

Thumb Keyboard (in normal layout mode, with suggestions turned off, and custom function keys) is by far my favorite so far

I gave up trying to use Kindle on the Touchpad. I use Aldiko for reading my epub files: https://market.android.com/details?...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbGRpa28uYW5kcm9pZCJd

I wonder if an update isn't coming soon. I don't see any updates on issues flagged Alpha3, but there is a lot of issue-merging and "PatchInTesting". I think the wifi issues are probably the worst bug right now. I can see why it's still "alpha". Think what it would have been like 2 months ago when everyone wanted them to "just release it now". Issues - cmtouchpad - Android port for HP Touchpad - Google Project Hosting

I think the wifi issues are probably the worst bug right now.

That and certain apps not being compatible. For instance, the free Merriam-Webster dictionary app launches OK, but if you search for a word, it can't seem to find anything.

I can get wifi working OK with my office wifi and my old 3G mifi, but it hates my Thunderbolt's 4G connection. Which of course was the one I intended to use the most ...

Make sure you get the SOD fix, then your only problem will be wireless. When they get that fixed, I could live with it until ICS comes out. :D

Thanks. What exactly is the SOD? Also what wireless problem? I've noticed after long periods of inactivity my WiFi signal will be gone. I have to toggle it on and off for it to come back on. Is that what you're referring to?

SOD= Sleep of death. Not as bad as it sounds, but you'd have to do a hard reset (power + home for 30 secs) to wake it up.

Wifi problems like "connected" but no Internet or connect/disconnect loops.

Pressing wireless connection and choosing "forget" and connecting again OR booting into webOS and booting back into CW7 also helps.
