Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Just another report on the battery life: From 4pm to 11pm, I lost 40% of my battery. I think I sent 1 text the entire time. I will do a full wipe tonight, charge, and see how tomorrow goes.

It has only been on for 16 hours.... and it is reporting at 8% left. I normally could go 2 entire days (literally 48 hours) on a single charge and still have around 10% left. I think you are right tickerguy, something is screwy on my phone. I appreciate you looking further into this. Is there an app that would help me find out what is eating my battery away?

Battery Monitor Widget. You have to tell it to use "estimated" though as despite multiple requests to the author he hasn't included the Triumph in the XML file (grrr.)

I do it differently though - I adb into the system and pull a cat on /proc/kmsg - the kernel will log a line every minute or so with the battery state.

I would like to report a small issue that i am having since the last few builds, whenever GPS is being used say in Google Navigation for instance then my data connection seems to drop off to 1x and then when I exit the navigation it automatically goes back to 3g. Also this is not something that happens every single time but it does happen many times.

Actually, the "Advent Vega" retrieval method option in Battery Monitor Widget works great for me, you shouldn't have to choose Estimated. CurrentWidget should also work -- the author updated it to work for the Triumph when I requested it a month or so ago. At the time he sent me a custom .apk for testing, but I imagine the main app in the market has been updated to include the fix by now.

Is anyone else having issues with Twitter and Facebook accounts disappearing. The app remains but when I restart the app it makes me log back in. This issue was non existant in the stock ROM.

Any hints would be apprecaited.

I had problems with Facebook after flashing but I think my issue is that I had originally restored the app using Titanium from a stock backup which is a system app on the stock Rom. I don

As I suspected would be the case, the popping sound that I and a handful of others were getting while using headphones no longer occurs with the wifi lockup bug fixed. I'm not going to begin to comprehend how on earth the wifi affected the audio like that, but whatever, it's fixed, so that's awesome.

I'm also willing to bet that a lot of the random reboot and freezing issues I was having were caused by wifi. We'll see.

And btw, I'm loving that the screen actually turns on instantly when I press the power button. Awesome work.

My guess is that you moved those to your SD card. That's what happens for some reason when you do this.

The most annoying thing I'm experiencing now (I admit its minor... Shows how good the current build is) is say I'm reading email, this forum, whatever, phone unlocked, and a call comes in, 20 seconds, or 20 minutes... When I hang up, it goes back to lockscreen almost every time (90% or more). Can't narrow down a pattern yet.

Having battery drain issues too, yesterday my phone lasted only 6 hours with my normal use and this started after installing the latest 10/26 update. Before that with normal use, I got at least 15-16 hours with all the other builds since 9/25. As some others have said, the dialer is strangely the second biggest battery hog (26%) according to the battery stats, which is weird because it never was really there before.

If your call exceeds the timeout setting and you don't touch the phone for that time this is expected behavior. It should go back to the lockscreen since the user interface timed out!

if you want to keep track of your battery drain problems and see how many Ma's you're using at all times and log how the Ma's are being generated by which programs search the marketplace for an app called "CurrentWidget" one word. it's pretty awesome and the last update had a fix in it that allows it to work on our triumphs!!!

edit: as of now my phone ranges anywhere from 7Ma - 400Ma... depending on what i'm using and what i'm doing and what's running in the background.

I just noticed that I am having a problem on the latest rom where if I have wifi enabled then GPS will try to find a location (like on maps) but come back and say it can't be found. Likewise if I turn off wifi and get the GPS to work then when I try to re-enable wifi (even after maps is closed) it will try to connect but ultimately fail.

I didn't see anything about wifi and gps not being able to be enabled at the same time, is this a known issue or is there something I need to do to fix it?

You may have some sort of compatibility problem with things in the /data partition or similar - I don't have problems with both being on at the same time. Just for grins and giggles I powered up the GPS Stauts app while my Wifi was up sitting here and it came up and worked fine.

Note that Maps will by default use whatever it has, and if you're on Wifi it will first try to get a fix off the Wifi. In my case apparently Google knows that my Wifi network is actually mine ;-)

The GPS icon flashes while it is looking for a lock, and once it gets one it will use that.

My guess is that your wifi connection is "unknown" to the Googleplex and as such the initial map location is too when Wifi is running.

Hey bing, I installed currentwidget after you recommended it earlier. I like it. I wonder if it would be beneficial to start a thread on peoples results using it, to see what the biggest amp suckers pan out to be. Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Having something bad on /data would make sense, I didn't erase it when I updated to the new ROM. I'll try that and see if it fixes things.

Thanks.
