SD Storage Vs Phone Storage..

So I checked my phone to see how much of the memory I am using up and it's saying that my SD Card has 974 MB of "total space" and 923 MB of "Available Space"..

Then under that my "Internal Phone Storage" says I only have 10MB of available space?..

I'm kinda confused because I just ordered a 8 GB memory card but when I see all of this free space on my existing SD card, I'm wondering if I even need it?..

Is there a way to move some of the stuff on my "Internal phone storage" onto my SD card?

Thanks in advance people..

no this was him saying "why the hell would you ask here, when you could have just googled it?"

lol, I thought it was clever.

Well I did Google it and was unable to get a clear answer... Which I still am unable to...

The link takes me to search results and when I go into that it's a forum for moving and organizing caches to your SD card... Then they have chunks ov coding for different apps...

I am not a programmer, nor am I a full fledged G1 enthusiast. I am simply someone who has the phone and is looking to move applications onto his Micro SD card... Pointing me to a site witch coding does not do me much good...

So once again.. Can someone show me how to move applications to my SD card to free up my phone memory?.. thank you...

Should have said that in the beginning instead of asking what the difference between it is...that way...you may not have got such a response...

To answer your question....you're gonna need to root your phone....

justjimjpc's signature links should be sufficient for you to able to do what you want to do...

Here's a link in case you can't find it...

Was this not clear enough?

"Is there a way to move some of the stuff on my "Internal phone storage" onto my SD card?"

But anyways.. What are the Cons for rooting your phone?.. Doesn't it void the warranty?.. What else does it do?..

Also is that all it does? What effect will it have on my phone?
