Hi everyone,

Ok, I'm a complete newbie and I'm hoping some of you may be able to answer some of my questions here.

I've just rooted my x10 mini using UniversalAndroot (for the sole purpose of deleting the unwanted apps pre-installed on the phone). I've used Titanium Backup to delete the apps.

What I want to know now is, if I try to upgrade to android 2.1 (currently running 1.6), will I be able to or will I encounter some problems?

I've heard of ROMS but when I look into it more, some of the posts/info just bamboozle me!

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there! (newbie attempting to help here, sorry if I don't manage to answer your question, but will give it a shot)
Have you resolved your issue?
I just managed to root my X10 mini from stock 2.1
As far as I know, you should be able to use the SE pc suite to search for updates and get onto 2.1 (i think you would lose root), and then re-root?
...as far as losing personal info (if that question was the main objective of your post) that you had on 1.6, i remember that there was a stock SE backup service that you could use, i'm not sure how foolproof it is, and whether it will work on your rooted phone, but since you've already got a Titanium backup, it might be worth backing up on that as well? I don't have experience with Titanium backup, but as far as I can tell, it's there to create a backup for whenever you want to switch to another ROM, so wouldn't that be the same for going from rooted 1.6 -> stock 2.1 ?

Hope that was, in some way, helpful

I'm just about to check out the xda link myself to see if I can sort out my current problem... want to install a custom 2.3 ROM, but have come across the 'bootloader' business, which apparently will brick your phone if it's locked and you try to install a new ROM... so want to find out if it's locked on the X10 or whether the ROM package you install has some way of bypassing it for you... (if anyone can help me out with that it would be much appreciated)

EDIT: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 (unlocking bootloader)

Hi guys
My xperia mini has just died on me. Calls go straight to voice mail and no sign of battery charge, no light, nothing.
It was working properly but suddenly it just shut down and that was it...
Is there a kind soul who can help me on this?

Thanks

One thing you could try to do is repair the phone or update it using the PC Companion software. So if the software on the phone is defective by doing this most likely you will resolve the problem.
