Guys,
Just got home and there was the FEDEX box containing the Commuter case for my HTC Eris....Awesome product, super slim but provides great protection for my phone. I really like the outer hard shell, it makes it so much easier to get in and out of my pocket. And, this 3 part case is actually slimmer than the cheapie mall silicone case I previously had. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the defender series. This case is perfect for most folks on the go and definitely offers the best protection I've seen from all the cases I've checked out.

I took a look at their website and they have some nice pics up. Is the back part of the case a replacement or a cover for the battery cover?

The back does not replace the current battery cover. There is a silicone layer that you put on first, then the hard shell on top of that. It is very sturdy, and thinner than the gel skin case i got at verizon that offered very little, if any protection at all.

I got one from the mall, thin, hard case, midnight blue, satin finish and I had Doug Benson sign it :) Also got the the verizon screen protector - which is quite thick and I doubt I will need to replace any time soon.

OH MY GOD! SERIOUSLY!?!? DOUG BENSON?! WOW!!! with midnight blue and satin finish?!?! From the mall?!? the mall?!?! WOW! Can you sign my post??

Ok guys and gals... pics below.

I got it today and really like the solidness of it. I actually feel like it could take a pretty big fall and bounce fine. The inner skin is a rubberized flex skin that wraps over the back, and sides of the Eris. The outer piece is hard plastic but thin and recesses itself in the flex piece. I can foresee them making this outer piece in multiple colors in the future. The only part that I dont like so far is the usb and headphone cover flaps. The usb flap can open with very little effort, too little for me. I can see this flap annoying me in and out of my pocket. The headphone jack conversely is somewhat difficult to open if your hands arent perfectly clean or you don't have any nails as is my case. This one I dont want to fumble around with. Both of these issues can be solved pretty easy though just by clipping off the covers at their hinges. I will prob wait a few days to do this though just to be sure.

The two features I like most about it is the camera/speaker bezel (this is very nicely made and protects the camera glass and seems to amplify the speaker a bit), and the front lip that comes up from the sides of the flex cover. This lip is nice and beveled so it doesn't catch on my hand or pants but is raised above the screen to completely protect it an even the trackball when set face down.

Ok ok... the pics :D
Here is two of many. Instead of pasting them all here and taking up too much space, here is the album. Let me know if the link doesnt work and I will fix as I haven't posted this way before.

I had this case shipped FedEx Overnight on the day it was released. I love the case but somehow my screen protector got some lint on it when installing. I tried to wash it off and reuse it but it just didn't work. I've never really had good luck with those screen films anyway. They should at least include 2 IMO. Great job on the pics!
