That does happen sometimes. One thing I noticed, and I've seen others mention it, is if you try to drag a shortcut it doesn't always work right. I noticed that if I use pretty much all of my thumb to highlight it and drag it, then it works. Makes the game Solipskier a bitch to play.

Dragging on the Prevail was a lot better, so it's surprising that this phone wouldn't be the same. I wonder if that's something that could be fixed in a phone update, or if that's not possible unless a component is replaced.

This screen issue is driving me crazy. Anyone have any news on fixing it?

Does any NOT have this issue? Could have been a bad batch of phones.

Found this possible solution, going to try it now:

Couldn't get this to work. The input variables are very different on the Ultra. Plus, this is a little over my head as I am not very familiar with Linux.

I found something interesting that makes me think it may not be a hardware problem. If you try to drag with two fingers on the screen, it works pretty much like you would expect it to. Try holding an icon on the home screen, touching somewhere else, then dragging. Works just fine. Same is true in games with screen controls.

I contacted Samsung about this and here is the very unsatisfying response I got back:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize for any inconvenience you have with your Samsung Transform Ultra.

Unfortunately, we are unable to speculate when/if this software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Should this become available, it will be posted on our website in the Samsung Download Center."

So I called the Samsung Support number above. The tech was actually very competent and helpful, but he said my call was the first he had heard about the problem and that there were no scheduled updates for the phone. I'm hoping that publicizing this problem will motivate them to fix it, especially before they release the Ultra on Sprint. I have a day or two left to return the phone, and I'm debating whether to take my chances that this will be fixed in a reasonable time.

:(

I know I should probably try to stop thinking about it, but this issue and Samsung's unwillingness to commit to fixing it has me very upset. I can't play my emulators and I can't move things around properly, and the phone just doesn't work like its supposed to. I was too busy to return it to the store last week, so I'm stuck with it now. I've made several attempts to get an answer from Samsung about what the deal is with this and haven't been able to get a straight response. $250 may not mean much to Samsung, but it means a lot to me, and I expect when I pay that much for something that it will work like its supposed to. They will probably fix this eventually, but it just seems irresponsible and arrogant to me that they would release the phone with such a significant problem and not take responsibility for fixing it. Samsung, you are officially on my shit list.
