Help Droid 3 USB to laptop

Greeetings,

I am new to the group and still fairly new to the Android OS. This may be more a hardware/setting issue, but I can't get my laptop (Dell Latitude D410) to recognize my Droid 3 via USB. I tried Verizon tech support with no luck, they even sent me a new phone, but that one isn't recognized. Other USB devices seem to work fine. Suggestions? Thanks!

When you plug in your phone, you should see a USB icon in the notification bar. Pull down the notification bar and tap on USB connected. When it asks, enable USB storage. Once you do that, your phone will show up as a flash drive on your PC. You can copy files to and from it that way.

Are you using the factory cable? Possibly it's an issue with the USB port? Have you tried it with other computers (specifically a back USB on a desktop)? These usually have the best power supply in my experience.

You have to use the cable that came with the phone, The USB cable from my Dx does not work for data, only to charge...
