I'm in Australia and i bought it on the web at Mobicity for $890 aussie dollars. Funny thing is that it was sent from america. The manual is downloaded from the web and that was hard to find. The manual is pretty basic and doesn't go real deep into what the S pen can do. So far, its a great phone although really really big but i,m getting used to it. It's actually very nice to use as a phone against your head due to how wide it is.

America? You may have trouble with 3G bands. Cant remember if the Note was a quadband for 3G as well. Yes, there is a Kies for PC, its what you use for Outlook sync (limited, cannot sync Google data) and media management (official. you could always use better 3rd party programs).
Don't use outlook. I,e got a live.com.au and a gmail

Even if you dont use Outlook, you need Kies. Its got the MTP device drivers for your device. You cant use other programs that require you to hook up the phone to PC without those. Just install it, you dont need to open it anyway if you dont use it to sync or for media management. On my computer its like wasted space. Its there just for the drivers and for official Samsung OS updates.

The Dell Streak has a 5" screen and not so bad against the face when using the phone.. but its totally even better using a bluetooth for such a device. i like keeping my sttreak in my hands and "surfing the net" or something while i am talking via bluetooth.

Sold from the U.S.?! wow, i need to check into this! are you AT&T?

Depends on what kinds of files. There's music and pictures and videos tabs there with sync buttons. I dont really use Kies to manage my files. Also if you connect to Kies you will see your device storage as a flash drive on My Computer in your PC, so you can also transfer via that. Can't comment much on actual usage though as I moved to wireless methods of syncing and transferring data for a while already.

Kies just stuffed the computer a bit. Ill plug the phone in it soon and see if the PC recognizes it. Thanks for all your help.

Dont do anything to the LOST.DIR folder. Leave it be. You can make your own folders there.
I put them in the phone folders for music and video files. Do i have to sinc them or something. They are already in the formats that the phone can read

No need. Sync is just making sure you have the same stuff on both ends of the sync folders. If you manually transfer data, no need for sync.
Trying to play video on rockplayer and it says to set mode in app settings. I can't find app settings and it says hardware decoding mode and software decoding mode. Which one do i press. Sorry for being a nuisance

Hardware decoding means, Rockplayer uses the hardware assistance of your stock video player.
So it can only play the formats which the stock player also does.
For to play all formats of which Rockplayer is able to play you have to choose "Software decoding" :)
