Good morning everyone! Got a bit of a late start today, but doesn't look like I missed anything of dire importance (I saw the battery increase spec last night before I went to bed...good stuff!)

Couldn't find the post to quote it, but a couple of people were talking about ATT coverage in the Atlanta area. I live just northeast of Atlanta, in Cobb County, and I have T-Mobile....and it is awful. I get 0 service in any building that is bigger than a standard sized-home. So if I go into the mall, or Costco, or Walmart, or the supermarket, etc. my phone won't get data or take calls. It's very frustrating, and I hear from others in the area that have ATT, it is the exact same way. Sprint doesn't seem to fare well in these parts either by looking at their coverage map, it actually seems spottier than T-Mo.

When I moved here in June, by July I was vowing to switch to Verizon by Christmas or as soon as a great phone came out. I was thinking, maybe Verizon will be lucky this time and get the Nexus for the holidays. Looks like that is turning out to be the case! Can't wait to dump this garbage service I'm getting from T-Mobile.

True, but if I had to pick one, I would get the Rezound, hands down. A crappy battery is better than a battery you can't even remove!

To be honest with you, since I'm not a rooter, I've always loved Sense and it is a bit nerve-wracking to think I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to try this NEXUS out, but I've made up my mind and I'm doing it. But my point is, HTC has done alright by me, so while I'm loving the idea of ICS and all, I can't bash them. I can ignorantly take shots at MOTO though, since I've never owned one. ;)

When ever I complain about VZW, people ask why I don't switch... this is why...

You may not like their prices, their policies, or their bloatware, BUT VZW has the best network in the USA by a large margin...

I grew up in East Cobb, so I know the area you are referring too. My in-laws still live over there and everyone who isn't on Verizon will completely lose service walking into a building. I think you will be really pleased with the service there.

A good day to you! I've had 4 carriers here in the ATL, Verizon being the longest. T-Mobile's coverage here is the worst (though region specific like all carriers ie. it is A+ in Birmingham AL), Sprint and ATT are in a tie for average, and Verizon is excellent even surrounding Atlanta and beyond.

I think you said you missed the snow, and I have relatives in NJ (Howell) and it's beautiful up there, but ATL is home and I love it. It's one of the prettiest cities in the country. Hope you enjoy your time in the South welcome to the land of hospitality. There is a lot to see and experience in GA hope you get to do some adventuring!

I was saying if I had to pick between just the Razr or the Rezound - I am waiting for the Nexus!!! :)

I knew thats what you meant Brad.

And I love Sense also. I don't know how anybody couldn't. I have played and/or owned almost every phone we could get through Verizon and Sense was by far the most normal (didn't mind having it) skin available.

I'm going to miss it actually. I posted earlier that I have Calender concerns. The Sense Calender is the BEST!!!!!
But NOTHING is stopping me from getting the Gnex, NOTHING.....
Unless you guys buy them all on me.......HaHa

I don't know my GA geography very well but I was down there (and drove from MI) in the summer for my cousin's wedding. a) it was beautiful b) had great service the whole time on VZW! We were in some really small towns/country too because her wedding as at Lake Lanier Islands (which are awesome now BTW, they did a revamp about 6 years ago)

Can't believe I didn't know VLC had an app. That's excellent.
VLC for Android is still in development and not yet in production. If you go to their web site, you will see their message...
VideoLAN - VLC media player for Android

The poster mentioned that it is a beta version and the poster might have got it from a different source as there is no public beta.

My first ever Andoid phone was the Eris - the only thing I liked about that phone was Sense. The three bucks for Beautiful Widgets was the best money I have ever spent in the Android Market. My OG Droid, Droid X, Charge & Bionic ALL had the "Sense-like" widgets. And the Sense Clock/weather widget will be the first thing I add to my Nexus! :)

I do miss the snow! And I lived all over the state of NJ, most recently I was in Freehold (the town next over from Howell). Small world eh? :)

It is good to know everyone in this area is giving a big thumbs up to VZW. I was so shocked that TMO could be THIS bad....up in Jersey, I was besting almost everyone in coverage and speed tests, even with a non-4G device. I've been with them since 2002, since I had the very first T-Mobile PocketPC Phone Edition. Change is good sometimes though!

Thanks for the welcome to the area. I'm still getting used to being in the south, but I'm trying my best to make it work.

My list is pretty simple

-Car Dock
-Multimedia Dock
-Bluetooth in-ears IF the corded set I have with a mic won't work

I might decide to get some additional cables but I'll wait and see probably.

Thanks baby blues for bumping and Gapi for finding. My car is terrible for mounting so never used a car mount. This place will be a godsend when I get my SGN.

I have it bookmarked in my browser from when he first posted it so no problem on putting it there for all to see.

I won't even need half of that but looks like you have it all covered except for a covering of some sort. I don't know that I'm comfortable leaving Precious naked.
