As much bad press as the tbolt got its not really that bad(I have one)And I did do my research, i decided first 4g was worth getting instead of waiting for first 4g and dual core(bionic), turns out I made the right choice b/c the bionic took so long and would have left me w/out an upgrade to get the gnex

Looking back (I didn't think it would take this long, and the Thunderbolt came later than expected, if I recall correctly), I would have been happy living with the TB for a year or so. But at the time, the battery life concerned me and the Bionic... well, it was right around the corner. And I probably would have jumped on it if I hadn't caught wind of the Nexus Prime rumors.

Can you imagine how the Bionic would have gone over if there was even a sniff of the Razr at the time? I think Verizon and Moto both got lucky that that stayed under wraps as long as it did.

I really like the Thunderbolt as well. Now that the got the latest Gingerbread, it is a great phone. Whoever gets mine when I sell it is going to be very happy. Just can't compete with the Nexus in my mind.

And with that, Good Morning GNexers. Today is the last day of Daylight Savings time, we rejoin the rest of the world at 2:00am tomorrow morning. Don't forget to set your clocks back tonight. I see tethering was the topic of the night. Its probably one of the toughest topics around. My personal feeling is to abide by the rules, but I tether so infrequently, I just activate it when I need it, and deactivate when I am done. .99 per day isn't bad really IMO. But I definitely understand those who feel they pay for the data already, and don't see it as a moral hazard to tether freely.

Jean Luc is French but the actor is British, so he speaks with a British accent. Who knows? In the Future, perhaps all French people speak English with a British accent?

Oh, and Steven just caused the French government to block Android Forums for eternity ;)

Touche. That is a possibility also.

I remember seeing a guy at the Verizon store on the Bionics launch day and he was so excited about getting it. I was happy and sad for him at the same time. Knowing that bigger and better is just around the corner makes it hard when you see someone getting something that could be considered a lesser device.

Personally, I could have caved for the Bionic a couple of times. The Thunderbolt was even looking good a month ago. I just really want 4g because 3g is just so horrible in my area.

If the Nexus/Razr were not coming out and I was offered the Bionic for my Bolt...I would keep my Bolt. Had plenty of hands on with the Boinic to know it's not on par with my Bolt, IMO....even with Bolt's battery issues and all...

I'm been following this thread for a long time now and I don't recall much information about Samsung as a phone manufacturer. How is the build quality on Samsung phones now? I had a Samsung dumbphone years and years ago and it sucked. Battery was crap, buttons would stick. The smartphones I've had are HTC TP2, OG, Droid 2, Droid 2 Global and Droid 3 and all had great build quality, IMO. Do they stand up pretty well over 12-18 months? I usually only keep phones about a year or less. With the D3 I've only had it 5 months, not because it a bad phone but 4G is now in my area. Also, to anyone that used to use physical keyboards and now you don't, do you miss the physical KB?

Samsung's components are among the best (screen, processor, etc), but I believe Motorola has the best structural build quality. Samsung uses more plastic, so their phones are lighter, and don't feel as solid as Moto phones. The GNex has a plastic exterior, but an aluminum frame. Its definitely not as nice looking or feeling as the RAZR, but the testers have been pretty pleased with the feel compared to other Samsung phones.

16 MB, 32 MB, its not gonna factor much to me much more than how many mp3's I can have on it.

Yeah I have decided I will go with the cheapest option available. Getting LTE in my area same day, Google Music, Netflix, Hulu, and something like Dropbox will be more than enough combined with whatever onboard storage there is.

Omg Google Music rocks. If anyone outside the US wants to get an invitation just use: hidemyass.com

It's not a dirty site, I promise.:D

I really hope there will be a pre-order. I don't want even a chance of having to stand in line and worry about the GNex being sold out.

If I have to go to a Verizon store, I plan on walking in, staring at the sales drone for a minute, then saying:

Hello. My name is Rich Sz. You have my Nexus. Prepare to die!

If I don't get arrested, I'll have a cool phone and the sales drone will have a story to tell on Not Always Right | Funny & Stupid Customer Quotes

I went from a blackberry to my Incredible and was very wary of losing a physical keyboard. For me, it was a very easy transition. Took about 2 days to feel 100% comfortable with it. And now, a little over a year later, I look pretty funny if you hand me a phone with actual keys. I can't type on them very well at all.
And don't forget, if you don't like the stock keyboard there are a lot of others in the market. I use SwiftKey, it was well worth the couple $$.

Criminey, the profile views alone make that link worth clicking.

I realize the Nexus they're showing is thinner than the LTE variant we're going to get, but how did HTC manage to produce such a comparatively beastly phone and yet spec an underwhelming battery for it?

Cause htc is really good at that.
And I know I'm on a minority but I wouldn't mind the thickness of the htc. I like having something with substance to it. The Nexus twisted 'em a bit. And the razr is too thin.
