It was not activated so no deal on checking apps. I wasn't real impressed by the screen brightness or pixelation, but it isn't activated either. pixelation is comparable to the charge, but that is by using the status bar for comparison. It was extremely thin also. I'm trying to upload pics here but can't get them off my phone. Will try again later.

As far as build quality, bulletproof. A lot better than the bolt. When I said pixelation I meant icon fuzziness. It was compatible to the charge but nothing like the bionic. Which is black pixelation. IPhone has the best screen and I believe the bolt is second. But that is just my opinion.

On edit: I mean on the screen sharpness and clarity. The bolt sucks ass in sunlight.

What I really didn't like on Moto's Droid X screens was when you turned them they really washed out quite a bit, I was hoping the Amoled was going to eliminate that.

I noticed the batt icon sharpness and was a little disappointed until I looked at the charge.and it was similar. I figured I might be trying to find something wrong as I have always liked the charge screen quality except for the green tint which is manageable.

Did you get a chance to power it off and then on to see the boot screen?

No, i didn't. I should have mentioned earlier that I was at the vzw store. They brought out the dummy one then told me to wait and they would get a real one from the back. Chances are, if little rock ar has them a town your in will;)

If Dmax gets one, I will use his input. Given how some are drooling before the phone is released and getting pumped by a splash screen- need to be choice on user input ;)

I'm definately not brand loyal. I hope the best for all phone manufactures because in the end, WE the customers WIN. If one does good it makes the others do more. I was even hoping the new iPhone would be iconic. I'm getting this phone, but when the nexus comes out and I play with it and like it better than the razr, i'll return it for the nexus. The rezound isn't even in the mix. It is the same size and feel as the bolt I have now which is easy to lose grip/drop, but with only a 200 mah bump on the bat + dual core+ a 720p screen. Hell no. The battery life will be abysmal. You'd think HTC would've learned their lesson on the bolt.

Who's getting pumped by a splash screen? I hope you didn't infer that from my post. I was just curious since he said he couldn't get past the activation screen. I figure the boot up screen will give him a little more information on how the display looked.

I am :) I appreciate a good BA. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

I appreciate all the little things done well. It's a total package. When people first start up their phones thats the first thing they will be met with. Heck, there are so many BA's on the dev scene that it's obvious, people LOVE a cool BA. Lets not fool ourselves :)

I think only 2 people have seen my Thunderbolt start up, and I've gone through so many roms that have "colorful" start up screens. I think the only reason I showed them was because the Thunderbolt had that crackling thunder that would start up. I probably showed more people my Speedtest.net speeds than anything else.

Sigh....it just occurred to me with all these new phones coming out, my 11-12 Mbps download speeds are only going to go down further...I remember 35-40 Mbps download speeds when I first got this phone. Oh well at least I can rub in my unlimited data plan on all the new adopters...
