Right Behind You
Ok, so I have been following people on twitter for a while and I have kind of decided to start actually tweeting. Right now I am using peep just to follow people and I like it, but I want to know if there is something better. Since I don't really know that much about twitter I don't really even know what to look for in a twitter app. What are you guys/girls using? What are the benefits or extra features of some of these apps?

Thanks in advance.

I like the new Seesmic, more than Twidroid.

1. It opens many of the photo services within the app itself, instead of launching the browser.

2. It's easy to follow conversations

3. It's easy to pick out tweets that are yours, mention you, or reply to you.

4. It's easy to follow and unfollow other users

5. Unlike Tweetcaster and Swift, the interface doesn't look like crap, or a game.

Of course, that's all my opinion. Also, one disadvantage is that you must press Menu to compose a new tweet, but that's not hard to get used to.

I use Peep simply for the fact it has the widget and it does all the basic things. The other clients like twitdroid and seemic are good and all, but for the most part theyre redundant with peep installed.. Im waiting for one that works like Tweetie 2 on the ipod/phone.

I like the look of Tweetie2 too. I used Ubertwitter on my blackberry and liked it, but I love the look of peep. I wish choosing links worked better though.

I use the big peep widget (it takes up a whole screen) for following, but then I use twidroid for tweeting myself. It converts the video or photo for you and all that. I haven't really used any of the others, but twidroid does everything I want it to.

I like that idea and may consider doing something like that. I really do enjoy the peep widget for reading.

I've been using Seesmic. However, I've just configured the Pure Messenger widget for Twitter and Facebook feeds.

Well, I pulled seesmic off my phone last night. It was a nice app, but I think I like the interface on twidroid better. I will probably play around with a few of the others you guys mentioned too.

Another question: I dumped my other account because I had too many random people following me. I set up my new account yesterday and I had 3 people following me instantly. How and/or why?

Spammers that either hope you will follow them just because they follow you, or hoping that when you check out their profile, you will click on their website link or a link in a previous tweet they posted.

Oh well, I thought they just found me interesting. :D That does explain all the porn girls following me on the account I just removed.

Twidget free is the BEST IMO... its so light weight and does everything i need it do. Also I think it has the most intuitive interface of the apps that I have tried. And actually very a pretty app! Simple. Elegant. Functional. What more do you need?

Sorry its actually "Twidgit Lite"

+1 for Twidgit Lite. I use this too. One click to look at a list of tweets, and post. Click links to open them in Browser.

Simple, clean, effective. You choose the refresh frequency (or manual) right when you make the 1x4 widget.
