Help Having an issue with wifi

I have an LG G2x running on Android 2.2.2
My wifi was working before but for the past week or so whenever I turn on my wifi, I'd get the icon telling me that it's connected, but whenever I go to the Android Market, my gmail, or a browser, I'd get the message "No Connection |Retry|". I've tried it on a few different wifi connections but I still get the same issue. My friend has the same type of phone but running 2.3.2 and he's able to get on the same connections that I'm trying.

Thanks for any help

I think I might do that but I'm a bit scared to do so since I ended up bricking my Galaxy

I'm trying to download drivers right now since my computer told me that apparently one of them failed. I got the LG Mobile Support Tool from the LG website but the dropdown has options for LGP999DW, LGP999DWDU, LGP999DWP, and LGP999WA and I'm not sure which one to choose. My phone info just says that the model is LG-P999 and that I know my phone is brown.

what's smart flashing? I got nvflash to "work" but it turned my phone into 990 and it's not really working

I'm following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
currently but I have yet to be successful in turning it back into 999. The wifi isn't working and I can't seem to actually get it into clockworkmod mode through nvflash. It just seems to boot up normally.

The p999 is the G2x which is the T-mobile version as im aware of.

the P990 is the O2X which the the english Lg version

the reason why it isnt working is because the P999 has different partitions and such.

SmartFlash bassicly puts your phone back to stock 2.2.2 froyo without root or anything, its as if you just got it out the box

ill try and find a link for you and get back to you.

EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14159600#post14159600. i couldnt find a smart flash for the P999 for some reason :S but this might help

I got Cyanogenmod to work finally and amazingly. Now it seems I have 2 other issues though. I don't think it's reading my external SD card as my phone tells me I have nothing in my picture gallery. I did try unmounting the SD card and remounting, but nothing. If I go through my camera, in the corner it does give me a thumbnail of an image in my sdcard and I could get to them through there.
The other thing is that I plug the usb cord in, connecting to the computer, and start the USB Mass Storage mode but my computer doesn't recognize it or something as nothing pops up. Going to My Computer doesn't have my phone listed either

I uninstalled the LG United Mobile Driver through CCleaner and then reinstalled it but otherwise I don't see any LG drivers under my Device Manager. I tried alternate usb ports, too.

Edit: Works now. Apparently I need to have the debugging mode turned on.
I wonder if I installed the OS right. My Internal SD only has 7 folders while my external has 14. I recall having twice as much stuff in internal originally and that I could put things such as music in there. I no longer have a Music folder in internal but I see it in External.
