so......when are we getting 2.0 or 1

that's incorrect. the behold 2 is not mentioned in that article so really you are reaching saying it will be released in march. the only confirmed march release on tmobile is for the cliq. samsung reps depending on which one you talk to say either no update is coming at all or that one will be released in june. btw the update on the open source page will be avilable as a ota bug fix in the next few weeks, again according to samsung reps. it will fix the sd card mounting issues.

Its a good idea to follow links, but its just based off of the youtube message, so again, if its to be believed. Simply providing information I find

While I was looking around on other forums, supposedly someone got some insider information from a Samsung rep (in person), but take it for what it is worth ....

a, The good news an update will go out this friday (Feb 12), the bad news, it's not an OTA update for android 2.1 ... this is only a bug fix

b, Now on the brighter said, the Behold II will get a 2.1 update eventually but according to the insider's information, it won't be until May.

From what it reads, the story is that HTC,T-mobile and Motorola got the software months before Samsung and that's why they're playing catch up (again, take it for what it's worth).

I'm patient but if this takes too long, I'm going to save my pennies and get the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Thats one pretty phone and I saw a video of it taking pictures, very responsive hardware. *sigh* Just so expensive, but from my experiences with Sony Ericsson phones(non branded anyways), worth it.

As for a bug fix, so they will finally release PC Studio for the phone? I've always wondered why have such a mode on the phone but no software yet.

Oh, care to link back to your source on this info?

NOT INSIDER INFORMATION!!!! The post he is talking about is on www.behold-android.com and is not insider info. It is simply what one member of the forum was told by a Sammy rep. The poster is not an insider and never claimed to be one. Nothing official just another rep speculating. Hope its true but there is no hard info yet. we should count on the bug fix coming sometime soon, though, as sammy has already released the source code!! we are only guessing when it comes to time frames.

there is the link:

This bug fix, which is now the first time I've heard of it. If its not going OTA, how will we be notified of it?

the bug fix is connected to the SGH-T939_OpenSource_Update1.zip. file on the sammy open source page, but cannot be compiled as the sammy drivers are not present because they will not share them the way HTC does.

btw: it will be delivered ota but no time frame has been released from sammy. since the code is done we can expect it sooner than later, but friday (tomorrow) has not been confirmed, so it may happen, but i doubt it.

Probably poor choice of wording but I never said the poster was an insider. I said he received insider information from a samsung rep (in person).

Or did I read that wrong?

my bad i guess i miss understood what you were saying. just don't want people getting their hopes up for nothing. sammy has let us done before and probably will do it again.

May???? May??? If Sammy has 2.1 on hand to release on a different phone in March (Galaxy 2), then they have it to release to us for the Behold 2. I am starting to feel that the OS update is purposely withheld to boost sales of another model of phone. That reeks.

We invested in this buggy 1.5 and have waited for an update to substantiate the high cost of the phone (vs a $99 cost, which it should have been, given the internal issues that cause it to be unstable).

What is the big fat difference between The Behold 2 and any new phone that they would release? Not much. Everything except the OS is in place for the B2 to be a jazzy phone right now. Sammy's big selling point for the new phones is 2.1. The other selling point is 32g of memory.

Release the 2.1 update to the SB2 community Sammy. I will deal with getting a larger SD card to compensate for my smaller memory card...on my own. The native memory is what it is. The processor is what it is. But the SB2 has been seen to literally FLY with the Galaxy ROM on a rooted SB2. So, the issue is simply the OS as we have said ad nauseum. - Samsung, you appear to be withholding the update on purpose. This is not a move to support your current user base. It seems to be a move to attract new customers for a phone that isn't even out yet while your current users suffer through constant dropped calls, frozen screens other issues like poor battery life. And we add to that list, lack of support because 1.5 is no longer supported on various apps. So, we are left out of cutting edge apps to top things off. I call your abandonment of the SB2 pure arrogance.

I don't see how it would be boosting the sale of the other phone.... I mean the other phone is going to Korea... Behold 2 is U.S.A and Europe only isn't it?

Just as the Behold 2 was the successor to the Behold, the Galaxy 2 is the successor to the Galaxy. It was rumored to drop in February, then it was announced that it would be unveiled at the MWC this month. Now the rumored drop is Q2...Which could mean anything.

The big selling points for this phone are the Snapdragon processor, a 32gb memory and 2.1 OS. Now, if Sammys OLD phones are sporting the coveted 2.1 prior to the launch of this phone, it could feasibly hurt its sales. The Galaxy is set to go head-to-head with N1.

Just picked up the MyTouch 1.2 tonight so it looks like the Behold II is going on the shelf until Samsung figures out what the hell they're going to do. It's not 2.1 but it is 1.6 which is a step up ... I guess

Did you see in the Sprint forum that the Samsung Moment is rumored to be getting 2.1 on the 22nd? The rumor-mill is buzzing with all kinds of hearsay. It is exciting news if it is true. But, still no word on the SB2...

And how dare you leave me and 2Fr35H and Yati and the few faithful SB2 hopefuls!!! You defected! LOL - I thought we'd all see this through together and celebrate whenever the doggone update arrives. But, noooooooo. You defected. Left us high and dry. Abandoned your sisters and brothers in Sammyland. We who comforted you when your phone continuously Force-closed. We who sympathized with you...This is all too much for me... I cannot take it. I am going to play Diner Dash in your honor. And remember better times :(

NOT!!! ROTFLOL- Glad you got out brother!!! ROTFLOL. :D

HA HA so true ... I'll never be satisfied.

Sadly isnt that how technology always has been? We have our expectations set so high. We want a device that does it all and all on a single charge. Even when the iphone came out to all the fanfare of the second coming of Jesus, we were still disappointed. And so I've learned to take what I can get and try to be patient about the rest. Still, my eyes like to wonder. Nothing like some good gadget porn.

I'm trying to figure out if you are a bigger hater or a bigger liar, it doesn't even matter because both are bad.

Let me clear up all of your lies:

There are no released Samsung phone as of today with an OS higher than 1.5. They are not holding it from us, they just haven't updated anyone!

If you want the source code, it is available, and has been since about 2 days after the N1 release. Google releases the software to the general public, and in some cases with certain partners a bit earlier.

The Moment is rumored to be getting an update, if I had a nickle for every Android rumor I heard, I could have bought a N1 by now.

If you want an updated OS, go work on compiling it yourself. People are very sick of your constant lying and bs.

For the record, my B2 flies with TW (minus a bunch of OEM apks), and after the new battery trick, it lasts the whole day, no problems!!
