Best DUAL SIM android phone?

Seems Lenovo has a brand new dual sim, dual standby phone, the P70:

Not much information across the web other then this (badly translated by Yoda it seems: "What is the upper right corner? ! Sensor? This is not it!") text:

What is the hottest market? Of course, Android smartphone it! The first solution using MT6573 Lenovo Music Phone A60, once launched will get a good response, stick easily achieved considerable sales success. Today we get is another Lenovo Music Phone Series machines

This modile have been offering Chinise shops such as etotalk.com (etowalk.com) and fastcardtech.com. Here's dialog from etotalk.com:
"Lenovo P70 Vs Lenovo A60 October 5, 2011
By: by sfs (from: ?)
The only difference I check from your specs between Lenovo A60 and Lenovo P70 are the back cam pixels and battery.
Lenovo A60 price is $184 and Lenovo P70 price is $249. Why is the price difference so big ?
Are there more better features in P70 compared to A60? If yes, can you explain the better features in P70 not found in A60?
Reply:
P70 is 5 mp with auto focus, A60 is 3.2 mp.
The battery of P70 is 2000 mAh, but A60 is 1500 mAh.
Others features are completely the same.
Thanks"

I ordered a Lenovo A60 but I sent it back after a few days because at many places I had no GSM coverage whre it was OK with my other phones (Samsung and Nokia) The A60 has a weak GSM transceiver which will only work in areas with many GSM transmitters. Inside buildings or in the train most of the time there is "no service".Nice Android toy but worthless as phone.

I have the same phone, but can't agree with you. Mine doesn't have any GSM or other wireless communication related issues. Sound quality form the earpiece and speaker is great... Only thing that may be better is battery life (I charge it almost every night), but that seems to be an issue with many android smartphones. Anyway, excellent android dual-sim phone and I'm not planning to change it soon.

I agree completely with you.
I must say that is the best phone on coverage and audio quality that i have ever had. I wish i can add it 256MB of RAM (like a desktop), and it will be perfect!

Hello all,
I have been reading this interesting thread since I am looking for a dual sim phone like most of you. I ran into the fundamental discussion on the chipsets used for the phones. On one site, there is the qualcom MSM7227 and the MSM7227-1 turbo (as in the XT531 and G1345). On the other side there is the mediatek MT6573 (650MHz) sets. This guy called Bruno Martins has a forum for the G11i pro where he also publishes new ROMS. This one runs on MT6573. He shows this is quite faster then the MSM7227 (600MHz) as in HD958/T8888. Spefically, the 3D graphics is much better in the G11i. The XT531 with the enhanced turbo and the G1345 come up clearly better.
However, there is one remark made in the review by Bruno: it seems that when using data connection on SIM1 reverts calls to SIM2 to voicemail. Can someone confirm, and can I see that as a major advantage for the qualcom chipsets?
Any thought is welcome

"...when using data connection on SIM1 reverts calls to SIM2 to voicemail..." This IS NOT TRUE.

I assure you that when someone calls you to the Sim2, it interrupts the data connection and the phone rings. This is a Qualcom specification.

Hi,

There is a company in Holland that sells the GSmart G1310 DUAL SIM phone. It costs 185 euro (250 US Dollars) excl. transportation in Europe.
With 24 months of factory guarantee. Website: SCOPEQ | Scope on Quality | web - graphics - marketing - consulting... - or email: info@scopeq.com.
By my opinion the G1310 is the best and most stable android 2.2 dual sim phone.

I have purchased my GSmart their, and its great!

How long ago did you buy it?

I know that when it had come to Ukraine it has had a lot of bugs both with software and hardware as well as with assembly. Also, dust appeared under its glass after using within some days.

Some bugs were fixed with new ROM-updates later, but not all.

probably you have device from the latest shipment.

Could you tell me you have some troubles with him?
Which is the number of its ROM?

I believe screen size 3.2" is too small for the outside dimensions: my HD mini now is much smaller with the same screen size.

The Motorola XT532 is available for $399,- via Etotalk/.

It looks really good, specs are great as well. Who is going to order this phone?

It is a little expensive compared to the alternatives (such as Lenovo A60), and their shipping cost $50 too. u can get a Nexus S for that price. However, it is a motorola build dual sim afterall.

I m checking with etotalk if it is in stock and available for delivery immediately before making up my mind.

Sure. With practically LG Optimus One-level specs (granted, the dual cameras are nice). I think I'll just carry a couple of Optimus One phones (costing $100~150 a piece) with me rather than pay $400 for the XT532.

I think the whole point of this forum thread is so that we dont have to carry two phones :) but your point is certainly valid (and i agree with you completely as well).

I think etotalk is over charging on this phone given that they are the first retailer to sell it online. I reckon the price will drop significantly very soon.

Also, has anyone have any news of the Moto317? (the one with physical keyboard).

I'm willing to pay a (small) premium for dual SIM. Heck, I bought my Nexus S for $300 and am willing to spend around the same price for basically an Optimus One level smartphone that supports 2 SIM cards. However, I draw the line at having to spend twice as much or more for Optimus One-level hardware just to get dual SIM functionality. I've seen dumbphones costing $25 that support dual SIM.
