Help Battery Life Terrible With Giffgaff

They use the O2 network, first night after changing from orange and the battery dropped 30% over night.

Everything was off, its not android os, what the hell is causing that?

Possible answer is the O2 (GiffGaff) signal on WCDMA (3G/UMTS) is worse for you than your previous Orange signal and therefore the handset is constantly trying to seek, and lock on to, a WCDMA signal that is marginal and causing the phone to constantly connect-disconnect-seek-connect-etc; which will cause a battery drain.

Try going to... Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Network mode > GSM mode... select this.

This will tell the phone to be content with GSM and stop it seeking WCDMA (UMTS) signal.
