Yes I'm aiming at them putting special rules in place for THIS thread and then hiding them within a 27k post thread. I don't think its fair for them to be putting people on probation like what was done today for a rule that is hidden somewhere within this thread. I have no issues with the official rules other than the swearing that is allowed (this is the only popular forum i know of that allows something like that).

We don't hide things.

Stuff comes up, we respond to it when it does, so the people involved can see it.

The person / post that Steven referred to got a private correction, and others were simply asked to not follow the same path.

We cannot foresee all of the possible ways for people to be impolite and then stick directions elsewhere.

This didn't even apply directly to you that I can see, so really, if you have some beef with us - I have more than met you halfway, I'll be looking for your PMs to me so we can discuss this calmly, off-line.

No one came here today to read any of us arguing about anything, least of all, us mods.

I've researched and found the corporate names and contact info. Maybe a few of you could contact some of them and ask for more information. I have written to Mari Walden, Vice President and Chief Marketing officer. Here is what I wrote her:

I'm writing to you to find out when you intend to announce and release the Galaxy Nexus. As I'm an sure you are aware, this device is generating a lot of excitement among your client base. While the average Joe may not know it's coming, those of us in the technology sector are EXTREMELY excited about it. I am well aware of the Droid Razr by Motorola and HTC Rezound, however, as a customer I am truly excited about being part of the true Google Experience that a Nexus device brings. I wasn't calling YOU out on anything. When I say mods I mean all of them that have posted a rule or warning. I know where the forum rules are posted but you guys are making some rules up and tossing them in this thread as you please.

I don't know why its so hard for you guys to see the point I'm trying to make. All I'm saying is to put the special rules in the first post so they can be followed so we don't have anymore issues. I'm not trying to fight here, I'm trying to make it so people don't get in trouble for a rule hidden in this thread.

For what its worth-- I strolled in to my local VZW store today on the way home from work. I've known a couple reps there for years and years and years. Trustworthy and honest. In this relatively small community theres few people that will work you over for a sale... specially when you know them, and they know you are more informed than them

Considering all the small bits we were hearing recently about accessories arriving and now training modules waiting for sales agents in their in-boxes I got curious.

Both of the guys I knew were gone for the day already but I did talk to a young guy who is no different than any of us. He's a fan as well and we both spoke excitedly about the pending nexus. He admittedly acknowledged that most everything he knows he gathered from 3rd party online info like what we have here. The only thing I wanted to get from him or either of my buddies was this: Have you ever seen a product launch two weeks or more after accessories and training material arrive?

His response was encouraging. Nothing earth-shattering (we all have assumed the following). He answered no. One week after accessories arrive is the norm. Training material can arrive earlier than a week in front of a release but two weeks would be a stretch. With that said, they have not received their accessories yet and this guy admitted that he's terrible about completing his online training, so he couldn't say if it had arrived in the last two weeks let alone the last few hours. Happy waiting folks.

I wonder if the folks criticizing the mods in here have ever frequented other forums. The mods here are saints compared to what I've seen elsewhere. No brown-nosing intended (cause I don't care!).

HA! Ya know, with as long as its been in hiding since it was announced (which was running 4.01 if I remember right) it'll probably be 4.1+ when we get it out of the box on launch day!
